They're curious! And, um, you know, way more suited to the environment so their curiosity can kill ... you.
Cassie, NO.
I'd need to know if the Humboldt squid would protect me from sharks before jumping in. Movie posters have led me to imagine it's a possibility.
Not all squid are Moop Moop. Just remember that.
I, for one, will gladly welcome our new, cephalopod overlords.
Outside mag did a feature story on the Humboldt Squid that's pretty scary. [link]
Reading the newspaper article makes me want to read the Outside article again. The San Diegan divers are saying many of the squid just seemed curious. eta: Now I'm wondering if the Outside people were poking them or chumming them or what. memfault.
I'd be in camp of unwilling to go in the water. I once snorkled into shallow reef waters off I think it was Carricou or Mayreau and a cuttlefish zipped by under me by about 6 inches. I thought I was going to have a heart attack. They're about as big as keyboard wrist pad. Beautiful, too, irridescent as their edges flutter. I have a friend that had that -- along with some other stuff. LONG Recovery -- verdict the sinus scrapping -- should have been done years ago. the throat stuff painful. However, no more snoreing and sleep, beautiful sleep. Except when her DH or the bulldog snore too loudly. Her Dh says it is pretty amazing.
I been reading about the squid all day.
I'm in a lot of pain tonight, but I'm really sick of the way the painkillers make me feel. Trying to decide whether to try just Tylenol and Aleve tonight, or go for the stronger stuff.
Do you need to do anything tomorrow? Do have anything to distract you if you aren't sleeping?
Nothing I need to do tomorrow. There's some math work that I ought to do, and I'd planned to go grocery shopping, but if I end up doing the math on Sunday and going to 7-11 to buy some frozen burritos, it's no big deal.
