I want to torture you. I used to love it, and it's been a long time. I mean, the last time I tortured someone, they didn't even have chainsaws.

Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I have the feeling we English majors far outnumber any other degree type here on B.org.

Heh.

Although if we lump math and comp sci and actuarial science together....

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Huh, I'm feeling really vanilla. Um. Sling? I probably don't want to know.

Yeah, if you don't know what a sling is for that's definitely a vanilla marker.

I always feel really vanilla.

Is that because you're FROM INDIA? t /LJ reference

Heh. Amusingly, I went from here over to reading some blogs, and lo and behold, Twisted Monk was explaining in mail from a reader that indeed, HIS ass hooks were not the terribly INFERIOR ass hooks, but were nice medical grade and welded properly and so on....

move out and draw fire

Well, I don't know about anyone else, but I just got a new pirate alter-ego: Captain Ass Hook.

Also a new put-down: "You Asshook!"

curiosity is a bitch. I mean. I wanna know what this shit is all about. See them in action. That little brochure shot of the hooks tells me NOTHING. And yet, a *little* voice in the way back part of my brain is screaming NOOOOOOoooOOOooooo!!!!!!

to try and change topics: Yesterday we had a meeting, where boss went on about how the Executive Staff had a meeting and read/reviewed a book called "Death By Meetings", and we spent 2 hours going over how meetings should be handled, ironically, the meeting did not at all follow the paradigm set out as the book describes.

So I am reading excerpts from the book, and came upon this:

So the big questions is why? Why are meetings boring and ineffective? Meetings are boring because they lack drama. Or conflict.
... and had the idea of, I dunno, LaserTag meetings. Or dunk tanks. bad idea ::bell rings:: Splashdown! Or those buzzer chairs from the family counseling episode of Simpsons!

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

My school didn't HAVE majors. AHAHAHAHA!

I can just sort of make stuff up based on my areas of concentration. If we'd had majors, it would have been something like Slavic Studies, Minor in CogSci. The perils of a classic, integrated liberal arts program! (Okay, honestly, I did as much Latin American studies as I did CogSci, but that was at the beginning of my career, and CogSci was at the end, and I did WAY better in the latter than the former. But my college career tended to go "doing well, doing well, nervous breakdown and flight from reality, doing well, doing well, nervous breakdown and escape into a bottle, doing well, doing well" and CogSci was in a "doing well" period of my life.)
