[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

The status is NOT quo.

Erin, that's great news!

I just stopped at a local bridal shop, just to look, and found two gorgeous couture dresses that are on sale because they are samples. Still stupid expensive, but wow.

“Not dead yet!”

Oh erin, that's wonderful. Amazing how the little bastages worry us.

And ooh, Pix-- spill! What were they like? ::loves wedding dresses::

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

More or less than the Dark Garden gowns?

Laga, way less. Those Dark Garden gowns run $3000-$8000, which blows my mind. Barb, both are dropped waist strapless with gorgeous detail.

ETA: the bodices are fitted tightly through the waist

“Not dead yet!”

Sounds gorgeous. I swear, I'm such a formal gown whore.

It's hard, because Drew would really prefer I just go non-traditional and wear something simple and not white, but a wedding really is one of the only times a woman today gets to truly dress UP in that way, and I'll admit that I never felt prettier than I did in my wedding gown at my first wedding (which was a relatively cheaply made knockoff retailing at $400). I kind of still want to be a bride, especially since I get to wear the dress twice (once just us in Hawaii and once at the big wedding party a couple of weeks later). So we'll see. I just don't know yet.

It's weird not having my mom or any bridesmaids to look and help me figure this out.

You know, I get it Kristin-- I think if I had an opportunity to have another ceremony, I might well go simpler than I did the first time but I'd definitely want something very elegant and not everyday.

Something like this, probably:

Of course, I'm also fortunate in that I get to indulge my formalwear fetish at least once a year at RWA National, so I get my fix that way as well. *g*
