Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

We got dabs flounder from our CSF today, and they are pretty small- most of the recipes I've seen for cooking them involve larger fillets. Tom is currently filleting them- 2 of them were bursting with roe, which we don't quite know what to do with. So I am trying to figure out how to cook small thin pieces of fish that will permit the actual flavor of the fish to come through, as opposed to putting it into a fishcake or something. Hmm. Any ideas?

Sand Dabs, baybee! A NorCal specialty. I'd try either a brown butter sauce, or a lemon caper.

More details on sand dabs.

Happy birthday, sj!

Happy belated birthday, Frank!

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I'm worried this career assessment test I just took has revealed that I am a sociopath. Hey, is Diablo Sound still looking for an office manager?

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

That sounds like the thing I had to fill out when I applied to Borders.

This is Birkman. They plot your answers on a grid. I am pinned at the bottom in a couple of categories. I was so hoping for "Law Enforcement or Landscaping".

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

The last job-related personality test I took revealed that I was an adventurous risk-taker, and also extremely cautious and rule-abiding. I threw it in the trash.

That was pretty adventurous yet cautious of you.

I'm curious how resigning part way thru her first term will better prepare her for the Presidency? I'm thinking something smells fishy here.

Thrive to spite them

I've skipped some doses of my Strattera (for ADD) and I can tell a huge difference, I'm so forgetful and losing things.

How forgetful?

well I ran to McDonald's and when I came home I forgot to put my car in Park. I live on the side of a hill. I dind't realize this until someone knocked on my door and said "Is that your car?" And pointed to my car. Nose down in a drainage ditch.

The body shop I called doesn't open until Monday but my car was towed there. I called my car insurance, which is the kind you get when you have a crappy driving record. And they explained that it will be at fault, the deductiable is $500 and my premiums will probably go up. They just did so now I'm paying $200 a month and I can see $300 in my future.

I feel so stupid because I did this the other day but realized as I got out of the car. I was just distracted and hadn't taken my Strattera and I can't really afford the car repair bill. If this had just happened 4 weeks from now money wouldn't be an object, but it is now.

I just wish I could go 2 years without doing something stupid to my car and my driving record.
