This isn't a come-on. I'm in a very serious relationship with a landscape architect.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

The appointment is over and I'm glad. I hated his office (would have even w/o the gay thing hanging over it). The nurse wouldn't leave the room when I got changed, he and his nurse had zero bedside manner, they never addressed DW once (hell, they barely addressed me). And they tried to schedule me for an amnio with him - nu and uh. I said I'd call to schedule it, but no way am I going back to that office. He also did some scare tactics, but from what I hear, that is pretty common with the 1st tri screening. Anyway, glad it's over and will be finding another specialist for the amnio.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

When do they recommend women get amnios? After 35?

move out and draw fire

Did I ever tell you guys (I'm sure I did) about the couple exams of my girlybits I had to have in Greece? First was with the embassy doctor, who I have to see every day in the cafeteria or at cocktail parties, and who was a hardcore fundamentalist Christian with doves and crosses and fish on his wedding band.

The second was an awesome Greek doctor, but she didn't normally look at girlybits, and so probably hadn't realized how weird the large painting of Jesus over the exam table was. Dude was gazing straight down at my privates. I told him "Yeah, YOU never had to deal with this."

Anyway, neither of those are in the same league, GC, but hopefully will give you a laugh.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

{{{Glamcookie}}} Definitely talk to your OB about this.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

When I was a kid we had mulberry trees in the yard and sometimes the berries would ferment, the birds would get loaded, and my folks would have to keep the cats inside for a couple of days to prevent songbird carnage.

The same thing happened with the mountain ashes we had when I was a kid (and with the cat).

Ugh, GC. Well, I'm glad it's over, anyway.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I asked my co-worker if she'd heard about the stoned wallabies.

"Is that a band?" she asked.

When do they recommend women get amnios? After 35?

Yeah. Lots of people don't do it, but we want to know if there are any problems.

Our wings are not tired.

I'm glad it is over, GC. I'm so sorry you had to deal with that. The whole thing just turns my stomach.

They wanted me to get an amnio but I refused. Told them it wouldn't make any difference in how I proceeded, so why bother. They could take all the blood they wanted. Also, chickenshit. I wouldn't have an epidural for the same reason. Big needle phobic. I've learned to deal with blood draws, but that's it. Don't suggest an IV to me.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

When do they recommend women get amnios? After 35?

Well. I'd recommend you wait until you're pregnant, at least.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I had the amnio both times GC and found it a relief, but then again, I got good news both times. I recommend watching the U/S screen rather than the needle. Baby tv!

Depending on where you live GC I would recommend my OB practice. I really like the U/S technician.
