Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I saw the weather watches your way, Andi. You and Daniel stay safe.

Now I want chocolate chip cookies but I'm too tired to bake some. I just went out and planted a bunch of irises Owen's bus driver gave me. I'm hot and sweaty and dirty. I should really shower.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Oh, I've yet to meet a chocolate chip cookie that wasn't inedible.

True dat. I was going to make cookies a few days ago but found critters in my flour. Have yet to buy more flour.

Tell us about your wee pirate play!

A friend and I wrote a one-act musical about pirates. It's cute as can be, but my co-teacher and I got reprimanded for wanting to do it because it was a political satire and admin was Not Having It. So, we didn't get to do it.

A local community theatre got their hands on it (through a couple of sources) and loved it. And, they wanted to do some more youth theatre, so we're mounting it there.

I'm directing, my co-teacher is music director, and about 15 of our students are the cast. They are great kids and it should be a fun show.

Ban art? Oh, I think not. It will find a way to exist. Which, interestingly enough, is the theme of our wee pirate play.

ChiKat, that is so awesome! Rebel art, gotta love it!

the performance should be dedicated to the school.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

I saw the weather watches your way, Andi. You and Daniel stay safe.

Thanks, the worst of it seems to have gone just south of us.

Break a leg, ChiKat!

It's nice to see some brave pretenders trying to make it interesting.

Hola, Bitches. I'm back in the USA.

Thanks! I've had a really shitty 2nd semester this year, but being able to do this show and stick it to The Man is a lovely thing. (Seriously, I became the scapegoat for things I never did, but admin thinks I did. They did not believe me otherwise and flat out called me a liar in a meeting. Reality is that several [dozens] parents and students didn't like what they were doing and called them on it all on their own, but admin doesn't believe they're smart enough to figure it out.)

Hmmmm....dedicating it to the district could be a fun thing. Because without them? Play may not have existed. And, the theatre we're performing in is only 4 blocks from the admin offices.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Whoa, ChiKat, I didn't know you were going through all that. Glad you are outta there! Yay wee pirate play of intellectual freedom!

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Pain is stupid.

Painkillers make me buy music from iTunes.

I don't understand the appeal of Josh Groban. And I don't really get Adam Pascal, either.

Everything hurts.

Sorry. Didn't mean to kill the thread.
