Hil, don't want to sound overly motherly, but be careful. You don't want to overtax your shoulder because you can't feel the pain.

I know. I'm not doing anything too strenuous, just things like carrying grocery bags or putting away dishes (stupid cabinets way above my head) that hurt when I can feel the pain more. Everyday levels of movement.

I really wish I could go back to trapeze. And they just moved from Baltimore to DC, so that it wouldn't have to be a whole day trip anymore. But I want at least two weeks without any serious pain or dislocations before I attempt that again, and I haven't gotten that yet.

I just made some sauce that was supposed to be a vegan version of Alfredo sauce, but ended up tasting way more like remoulade. Not what I was expecting, but really good. I think I'm going to put it on top of pasta with asparagus.

sounds good. But, as all of the alfredo ingredients are non vegan, I imagine that getting it right would be quite a challenge.

It's got toasted pine nuts, onions and garlic sauteed in olive oil, nutritional yeast, chili powder, and supposed to be mustard but I skipped that, put through the food processor with a bit of water until sauce-like. The pine nuts give it a really neat flavor.

Now I'm trying to figure out how to make something that would taste more like alfredo. I think maybe cashews instead of pine nuts, cut way down on the chili powder, replace part of the water with MimicCreme, and maybe cook the onions and garlic in Earth Balance rather than olive oil. I shall have to experiment with this.

Oooh, just found this recipe for vegan alfredo that looks really good. [link]

I think that chickpea flour is magic. I've been seeing it in a ton of recipes lately, so I picked up a bag of it at an Indian grocery store, and it really does work in just about everything.

Hil, that recipe has sour cream in it. I assume that she means vegan sour cream?
