I just made some sauce that was supposed to be a vegan version of Alfredo sauce, but ended up tasting way more like remoulade. Not what I was expecting, but really good. I think I'm going to put it on top of pasta with asparagus.

Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Nugget!!!!!
Congratulations GC & DW!
sounds good. But, as all of the alfredo ingredients are non vegan, I imagine that getting it right would be quite a challenge.
It's got toasted pine nuts, onions and garlic sauteed in olive oil, nutritional yeast, chili powder, and supposed to be mustard but I skipped that, put through the food processor with a bit of water until sauce-like. The pine nuts give it a really neat flavor.
Now I'm trying to figure out how to make something that would taste more like alfredo. I think maybe cashews instead of pine nuts, cut way down on the chili powder, replace part of the water with MimicCreme, and maybe cook the onions and garlic in Earth Balance rather than olive oil. I shall have to experiment with this.
GLAMCOOKIE MAMA!!!!!!!!!!! YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!!! I am so excited for you and DW!
I am currently watching Kristin pick people's pockets.
so we now have MomCookie?
Oooh, just found this recipe for vegan alfredo that looks really good. [link]
I think that chickpea flour is magic. I've been seeing it in a ton of recipes lately, so I picked up a bag of it at an Indian grocery store, and it really does work in just about everything.
Hil, that recipe has sour cream in it. I assume that she means vegan sour cream?
Now Kristin is assassinating people in cold blood.
