My back is still whining at me for making it stand up all weekend. That'll teach me. Yesterday I worked in bed all day, but today I have to go to a class (crazy - it's like I'm a *student*) so there will be getting up and attempting to go places. Should be interesting.

This afternoon my friend is bringing a cake that she's baked for us to our study group. Friends are awesome.

I should be in bed. Alas, a brief skype with Shir, and now MyBrute fights are keeping me from it. When will I ever learn?

I sit with Sean and Omnis on the "why the f can't i get a date" bench. Seriously. I've tried eharmony, match.com, the onion.com personals, and hurrydate, back when i had a semi normal schedule. Went on a lot of first dates, a couple seconds, nothing more.

Now that i'm on night shift and have few social friends in the area...well...there isn't much meeting to be done and i gave up on the online dating as an expense i just can't shoulder right now. Prospects are nil and it is depressing. Not that the situation is any way new, i've been single pretty much since college, but i'm looking for a house right now and have pretty much given up on *not* spending the rest of my life alone, which hurts sometimes.

And while yes, definitely looking for scrubbing the toilet, doesn't mind me singing to my cats kind of relationship, i have learned the hard way that there has to be *some* element of physical attraction. Otherwise i just have a really awesome friend who i don't particularly want touching me...and that does not go over well at all in the long run. There is an essential difference between friends and partners and i think pheremones are in there pretty heavily. Maybe my pheremones are broken? Or just too picky. Dunno. Either way it sucks. *sigh*

I need more friends who are amateur matchmakers, darnit!

I'll be mearaing about all of the stuff I missed soon enough, but for now, someone please knock some reasons into my hormones and tell them they can't control my fucking mood for a week without reason nor point, kthnksbye.

Oh, and meeting Nilly for ice cream seriously rulez.

And for shortsighted idea of the day - the Broward county sheriff wants to cut out the following programs to save money in the prison system, perhaps to get repeat customers. On the chopping block, substance abuse treatment, anger management help, computer skills and other skills training, etc. [link] They figure to save 2.2 million, the cost as they say, priceless.

This moron mom [link] wants to take oxycontin off the market because her son allegedly got addicted to it and died. Don't blame the kid with the addictive issues, don't blame the doctors who weren't paying attention, and certainly don't blame the mom who sat and watched it happened! Blame the drug that helps millions!

Hubby lost Vioxx and the others in that class that really helped. This woman is not taking away one of the few other drugs that works. I have letters in the works.

Oh! Can I get them to get rid of a few of the video games that are responsible for my kids not doing their homework? That would be a whole lot easier than me actually parenting. Say goodbye to WoW everyone.
