People can't sleep on a TiVo. IJS.
if I thought there was a chance in hell that you would come visit, then I'd listen to you :) besides, I have a futon that is currently serving as the couch.
Is there a link, Vortex?
It was an email giving me the special deal since I've been a long time Tivo subscriber.
Nor can they record The Office on a couch.
and know that it will record the right channel, which is my issue with the current tivo.
Agreed, but if you're paying upward of $100 for the privelage? I don't see how it's possible.
If there were a viable alternative I'd be all over it. Chez Zmayhem has paid close to $200 a month in overdraft fees for almost the last year, money we need much more desperately than the bank ever will. Particularly galling and infuriating is that probably 90% of these fees have resulted from getting hit with a $65 fee for going two dollars in the hole at 6 p.m. the night before my $1600 direct deposit check hit the joint account. We were living paycheck to paycheck before WF implemented its new debit first, credit whenever we get around to it policy, and the new policy has made things infinitely worse.
eta: But, what's the alternative? Sounds like this is now near-universal, even with credit unions.
In non-money-bitching news, I am vibing hard for Aims and her sister, and for the first time in my life I wish I lived in Kansas City so I could go over to Erin's place and bring her soup and trashy novels and do kittycat care and such.

Ah. I've got the link to the deal for $698, which is still pretty good. I was just hoping that I could shave another $100 off that. I need to pull the trigger and get that ordered.
Ah, you say, put what if I have pending deposits to cover it. You are out of luck: The bank will post your withdrawals before your deposits. Further the amount of time you were overdrawn will not be the one day posting date. It will be the whole time your withdrawals were pending.
The Bad Bank Tactic that annoys me more than this is Bank of America
t spits
changing the due date for credit card payments to *earlier* in the month, but not actually informing the customer in any way other than the date on the bill.
"Yes," I hear you say, "but don't you READ YOUR BILL?" Well, when the due date has been the 24th for 6 years or so, I admit I started to take it for granted. Boy, was my face red. Make one late payment because you didn't know the due date was changed, and WHAMMO! Say hello to 23.99% interest.
Assclowns. When my local bank offered me a 0% interest for a year credit card, I jumped at it, paid off my BoA card, and never looked back.
t edit
Admittedly, when I called and bitched, they lowered my interest rate....to 18.99% On new purchases only. The bulk of my credit card debt with BoA was a transfer from years ago, and the transfer interest rate was still 23.99%, which made my effective interest rate about 23.91%.
Fuckers.
Are you a new tivo user? If not, I say give them a call and ask them about it.
We are new, Vortex. We've been cable DVR people for a few years now. I realized when this offer came out that we could have purchased a TIVO two times over (with subscription costs) for what we've been paying in DVR rental/service fees.
What the hell, give them a call anyway and say that you are considering switching and what can they do for you?
Thank you for all the vices (bwah! that's a funny typo considering she JUST quit smoking! I mean VIBES!) for Sis. If I could ask for some more, I'd be most appreciative. She has the beginnings of an infection. Doctors caught it early (I'm really beginning to hate that phrase, but I must admit, it is better than the opposite phrase) and they drained some of it today and upped her antibiotics to 750mg. Mom said Sis is exhausted and emotionally drained and spent the better part of today just sobbing. Not sure if it's the exhaustion, the realization of her having cancer, the pain in her neck, the frustration of being incapacitated. I would imagine, a little from columns A, B, C, and D.
Poor baby.
Oh honey. So much love and ~ma to you and to your poor sister.
Oh, Aims. Sorry your sister's feeling so badly.
