[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Ah, you say, put what if I have pending deposits to cover it. You are out of luck: The bank will post your withdrawals before your deposits. Further the amount of time you were overdrawn will not be the one day posting date. It will be the whole time your withdrawals were pending.

The Bad Bank Tactic that annoys me more than this is Bank of America t spits changing the due date for credit card payments to *earlier* in the month, but not actually informing the customer in any way other than the date on the bill.

"Yes," I hear you say, "but don't you READ YOUR BILL?" Well, when the due date has been the 24th for 6 years or so, I admit I started to take it for granted. Boy, was my face red. Make one late payment because you didn't know the due date was changed, and WHAMMO! Say hello to 23.99% interest.

Assclowns. When my local bank offered me a 0% interest for a year credit card, I jumped at it, paid off my BoA card, and never looked back.

t edit Admittedly, when I called and bitched, they lowered my interest rate....to 18.99% On new purchases only. The bulk of my credit card debt with BoA was a transfer from years ago, and the transfer interest rate was still 23.99%, which made my effective interest rate about 23.91%.

Fuckers.

Are you a new tivo user? If not, I say give them a call and ask them about it.

Now tagless for your comfort.

We are new, Vortex. We've been cable DVR people for a few years now. I realized when this offer came out that we could have purchased a TIVO two times over (with subscription costs) for what we've been paying in DVR rental/service fees.

What the hell, give them a call anyway and say that you are considering switching and what can they do for you?

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Thank you for all the vices (bwah! that's a funny typo considering she JUST quit smoking! I mean VIBES!) for Sis. If I could ask for some more, I'd be most appreciative. She has the beginnings of an infection. Doctors caught it early (I'm really beginning to hate that phrase, but I must admit, it is better than the opposite phrase) and they drained some of it today and upped her antibiotics to 750mg. Mom said Sis is exhausted and emotionally drained and spent the better part of today just sobbing. Not sure if it's the exhaustion, the realization of her having cancer, the pain in her neck, the frustration of being incapacitated. I would imagine, a little from columns A, B, C, and D.

Poor baby.

Question -- would it be tacky to give someone a used tivo as a birthday present if they really wanted one?

I think that really depends on the recipient and what your usual birthday practice is for him/her.

eta: For example, if you usually don't get each other anything, it could be a nice bonus for them. However, if it can be interpreted as, "she gave me her cast-off and bought herself a shiny new toy" because you usually put a lot of thought into the gift, that could end up making you look tacky.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Just to point out -- there are laws requiring banks to give you access to your funds within a certain period of time after you deposit. While there are exceptions, the bank is supposed to let you know if it's invoking one of those exceptions.

Which, I admit, doesn't speak to much of what people are complaining about.
