Shit's all sorts of different now.

OMG - really? Is there anything better than cold, leftover Chinese food? Specifically sweet and soup chicken and veggie lomein?

Because books.

Erin! Dude, that's ... really sort of fascinating. I'm so sorry about the money and time stress, though. ::hugs Erin:: I should write you some porn for your recuperation!

Unfortunately, vw, as a teacher, there is no stealing away for me.

But I do get off at 3 on Friday...coffee?

Hmmm...I'll have to see if that late will work. We have to go to Omaha for a concert in the evening. I'm not sure what time we have to leave... I'll check and e-mail you.

That would be made of awesome! I read too fast; I'm gonna have my sister (cyster, heh heh) steal me some massive bios, too.

And don't get all excited, y'all. I won't know if it's actually a teratoma till they whack me open. But, dude, I kinda want it to be. But I did some reseach and a teratoma is different than a parasitic twin, so I'm not gonna go all The Dark Half on ya.

(Note to self: research parasitic twin horror novels for recovery reading. Hmm. Is there PTwin porn? Hmm.)

So, I'm about to head over to pick up my pay stub from UMB, then take the documentation over to MassHealth to talk to a supervisor. Any comments on this letter?

To Whom It May Concern::

Yesterday, April 17, 2008, I called regarding the denial of my CommonHealth re-eligibility. I spoke with a customer service agent, who then transferred me to _____, an eligibility specialist in the Revere office.

______ was very helpful in explaining why I had been denied, and even tried to help me come up with a way to get reinstated. I had only sent in pay stubs from two of my part-time jobs because my third part-time job is through a private family, and I receive personal checks as payment for that job. She suggested that I get a letter from the family, stating how many hours a month I work and what my pay rate is. I responded that I was uncomfortable with that, as I would have to disclose my disability to the family, and that may jeopardize my job. _____’s response really troubled me. She said, “Well, ma’am, you are disabled, and they should probably know that.”

My disability is psychiatric, and I am steadily working very hard to get back to a place where I can be working full time. Disclosing a psychiatric disability could jeopardize my position, and I feel that ______ should have been more sensitive to that fact. I understand that MassHealth needs the documentation to re-instate my insurance coverage, but the insensitive comment was not only unnecessary, but also inappropriate. I hope that in the future, eligibility specialists will be trained to be more sensitive to people’s disabilities--especially psychiatric disabilities.

I have enclosed pay stubs for the last month’s of work at my other two jobs. They total 42.75 hours for the month. Please re-instate my CommonHealth with this documentation.

vw, the letter looks good. I don't think you need to mention the nature of your disability -- it shouldn't matter and you shouldn't have to justify WHY you shouldn't have to disclose if you want to keep it private.
