"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

11 cm? Whoa! That is an overachiever. Perhaps you should give the doctor some holy water, in case it happens to have horns.

Seriously, that sucks, Erin. I have found that it never takes as long to get back on my feet as the doctors say.

I have had the ovarian cysts, and they do set an entirely new standard for pain.

It's nice to see some brave pretenders trying to make it interesting.

Ok, just spent a couple of hours catching up on the b.org. There's a lot going on!

Belated Happies to ND. Hope it was a good day. I skipped all the shoe posts. Nora's beer place should be bopped upside the head. I liked the potential wife email. (OMG totally spaced on the Alien thing!) Easy removal ma to Erin.

I have some minor sqee news... yesterday I ran 3 miles at 11.5 min/mile. This is a minute faster than I normally run. Is the apocalypse nigh? I have new clipless pedals for my bike (finally on my bike!), too.

Sox, did you see in my last email about whether you needed me to sit on Iris tomorrow? I'm free in the afternoon if you need me. If you don't I'll be going for a walk to check out a new (to me) trail.

Very, very indeed. I got back from the Publick House (after a couple detours) and guess what they had on draft? Yep, McChouffe. And, fucking yeah, that's not just brown, it's dark, DARK brown (and very tasty, I should add). Absolutely NOTHING like a pilsner.

I didn't go for the LeChouffe, because they had some other options that were more my speed, so I personally can't confirm it's not pilsner-like, but I suspect Nora knows from whence she is speaking (just a hunch). Allagash Odyssey is wicked awsome, though, FYI (and 10 ABV).

Yeah, I'm gloating a little. I also took tomorrow and Monday off so I have a four day weekend. So I guess I'm gloating a lot. Bad form; no biscuit!

not your mom's socks.

d - that's really sweet. I would take you up on it but its supposed to be gorgeous tomorrow and all I can say is Gorgeous Day!! VS cranky toddler and cranky me. No contest. I don't think I'll do much work tomorrow afternoon. Not enough brain cells remaining.

Ok, but call me if you change your mind.

I interupt the whitefonted conversation to say, all the talk of thai food led me to go get thai food on dinner break. Yellow curry chicken. nom nom nom.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

{{{Erin}}} Quick-post-surgery-healing~ma to you.

Heard back from my professor:

Dear Glamcookie,

I very, very much appreciate your response. I wish every student had your maturity in handling such situations. Perhaps it will serve as a reminder that safe choices are rarely satisfying in the end, and that we need to connect with what moves us, wherever that might take us (sorry if this is too lyrical, but there is a practical lesson there).

I'd be happy to work with you on IS. Indeed, bring me a proposal, and we can take it from there.

My best regards,
Prof

well, the grade wasn't what you might have wanted, but it sounds like you got a notch higher on respect from the Prof. In the end, I think you won in that bargain.

All is well that ends in pizza.

I have just now shown Andi the classic Tm Conway Elephant Story [link] from the Carol Burnett Show.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I forgot to say thank-you for the wonderful soup recipes. I made the tomato tonight with fresh tomatoes (I blanched and peeled them) and it was faboo.

fyi I didn't think about what might happen when I put hot tomatoes and baking soda in the blender. The soup tried to escape through the ceiling! I was able to get it blended using very short bursts.
