I find this statement highly amusing this morning as I realized this morning that ND and Pope Benny share a birthday.

There's something important there.

Also, the Papal Visit is causing much mirth in the morning when listening to NPR. My favorite from this morning...

NPR: "....President Bush met with Pope Benedict XVI at Anders (Andrews?) Air Force Base, where the Pope was greeted with a 21-gun salute....

Campus looks really lovely for the Pope's visit. If you can get close enough to see it -- which today means resident students and law school folks, so the Secret Service can run the dogs all over campus looking for bombs.

Roads are closing around campus at 3 p.m., so getting out of here today is going to be one Mell of a Hess, as my mother would say.
