I'm sorry, dad. You know I would never have tried to save River's life if I had known there was a dinner party at risk.

Spike's Bitches 40: Buckle Up, Kids! Daddy's Puttin' the Hammer Down.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

That's exciting news, Scola!

Back from baseball. Yesterday we had a long hot practice in the noonday sun and worked and worked on pop flies and cut-offs and I gave a lot of extra batting instruction to the bottom part of our order. And it all paid off today! Two of our shakier fielders made excellent catches on towering fly balls and popups, the other team hit but we kept them from scoring because of outfield play and I got important hits from some of the guys I worked with.

Cubs win 7-0. Emmett hit well especially considering he arrived on a flight last night after midnight and didn't get into bed until 1:40. But he was robbed by an excellent play by the Rightfielder on a sinking liner, and crushed a double into the gap past the centerfielder. Then he moved up on some aggressive baserunning and scored on a wild pitch.

We're now 4-1 and in first place. Woot!

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I think more than once risks damaging the relationship.

what if they're your roommate, you're broke, and the bills are coming due?

The status is NOT quo.

Then he's the one risking damage to the relationship, not you.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I think more than once risks damaging the relationship.

There's so many variables, though - I don't know that that always applies.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I think I'll leave a note on his door to please split his tips with me until he is paid off.

I tried, "I got some great soup recipes from my imaginary friends that I'd love to make [edit: for him!] if only I had some money." But apparently that was too subtle.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I think I'll leave a note on his door to please split his tips with me until he is paid off.

I think that telling him "I need this amount of money by this date in order to pay these bills for our apartment -- please get it to me" might go over better than telling him exactly HOW to budget his money to get it to you.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I feel awful because we've been getting along great but I got along great with my last roommate until he got behind in the bills and then suddenly he thought I was a bitch.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

...and technically I have the money for the bills, I'd just like to be able to buy some food and pick up my dry cleaning. It really irks when he comes home from work, changes, and goes out clubbing. I want to grab him and say, "that's my money you're spending!"

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Whether you can afford the bills on your own or not shouldn't be the issue, Laga. He owes you the money and he should be giving it to you in a timely manner. I agree with Hil though, don't tell him what money he should use just that he owes it to you and needs to get it to you asap.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

Nothing wrong with reminding someone how much is owed, and that you need it by NOW. As long as it's a polite reminder and not shooting of kneecaps.

Marmaduke is a silly one-frame cartoon like Family Circus, but about a big dog.
