Aw, Kristin - it's like they're Jilli's worshipful congregation AND THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW IT YET! There they are, aspiring to frilly glittery cupcakedom and not suspecting that the incarnation of all that is exquisitely feminine, stylish, perky, crinolined and cupcake-esque is living and breathing and working in Seattle.
Bless!
Exactly!
Also, Jilli and Pete got me addicted to Mighty Leaf Tea (they are eeevil), and right now I'm having a blend of Chocolate Chip Truffle and Vanilla Bean black tea. Yum! (If you are a tea lover and do not want to inherit a spendy online tea habit, do not follow these links. Seriously.)
Oh! I finally got rid of my old desk! And someone is supposedly coming to pick up the old rug tomorrow! My apartment will soon be free of excess junk! (Or, at least, big excess junk. There are still plenty of little things that I probably don't need.)
If she's so well-mannered how come she was such a bitca the year you were both living with your Mom?
Heh. Twenty years can do a lot. Of course, she was still delightful to everyone else.
And let me tell you, I just switched to Digital Cable for the sole purpose of getting the Speed Channel.
I'm moving to an apartment with satelite tv. I confirmed that the service has SPEED or I'd have changed it.
Oooh, we can have a friendly rivalry and talk strategies. For my heart belongs to Kimi. I loathe Massa. Hamilton is a fantastic driver and I can't wait to see what he does in the next few years. I am entirely unsympathetic to Alonso being in a subpar car this year. And I do little dances when Bourdais' teammate out-qualifies him because I am a petty person and don't like him even if he is a technically good driver.
I am a little frightened that I understood every word of that.

You have learned well, young padawan.
Though my favorite is meeting people who just presume that everybody who lives in a city is likely to be murderized the second they walk out the door. "I would never live in a city!"
So my SiL. It is annoying as hell.
One of the LJ spotlights this week is glittercupcakes. Anyone else think that Jilli should make an appearance? I'm so amused by their cute little girly cupcake squees!
Heee! Oh dear, I may lose some time to reading through that community.
blushes furiously at Fay's comments

Mmmm. I think I need to order more tea soon, because I'm starting to run low on my chocolate rose mixture.
I hate the Big City = Imminent Death thing too. Once someone who lived in a suburb of San Francisco said to me, "You walk to the 24th and Mission St. BART Station? There are all those scary people and drug dealers there!
Wanker. Or rather, wankette in this case....
I watched some NASCAR this past weekend solely on the strength of an SGA fic called "Fireball." That's some serious cultural stretching. Though I'm always fascinated by the different set of commercials you see on sports than with everything else.
Nascar has some seriously funny commercials. The rest are an interesting look at what advertisers think comprises their audience, but the ones with drivers and such in them tend to amuse me far more than even Superbowl ads.
I started reading that and lost the link. I should find that story again and finish reading it.
