Spike's Bitches 40: Buckle Up, Kids! Daddy's Puttin' the Hammer Down.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Let's see - I started working at age 7. Maybe an hour or two a day doing chores while my dad milked the cows. Later it became two or three hours a day seven days a week (plus I had to do chores in the mornings when I didn't have school). Plus fieldwork in the summer (driving a tractor or swather). I didn't start getting regular summer jobs (outside the farm) until the summer after I graduated high school. Oh, and my first Christmas break (which was 5 weeks) I worked on the farm too.

Just the other day I was thinking about when I was about 14, I sprained my knee. The doctor told me to stay off my feet for a week, but my dad made me work anyway. I hadn't thought about that in ages, and I find that memory difficult to reconcile with my current impression of my dad.

Punishingly Intricate

she said she's also a model, so yeah.

Damn her! I'm guessing she got all the height and none of the chubby!

(although, technically, I have modeled. I was Miss August in Hampden Hotties calendar my friend did for her store a few years back and I was modeled the Best 5-Minute Beehive model in Baltimore Magazine when my hair lady got that award.)

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Bev for Queen of the World!!! hoists sign, chatns "tea and cake or death!"

The overprivilege kills me - I went to college with a bunch of kids like that. I started working for real at 16, too. I tried to work earlier, but AK's child labor laws are srs bznz, so I just worked at various arts festivals and theaters as a go-fer.

HOORAY FOR AIMEE'S CANCER-LESS SISTER!!!

{{{Sean and S}}}

Speaking of working in theater, I was supposed to be the alternate board op for Point Break LIVE!, an improv show based on the movie. Show up yesterday at the theater (which is a pain to get to) to learn the cues, only to be told "oh, we called to many people, sorry but we don't need you." Grrrrr. People! Call if you don't need me!
