Buffy: He ran away, right? Giles: Sort of, more. turned and swept out majestically, I suppose. Said I didn't concern him. Buffy: So a mythic triumph over a completely indifferent foe? Giles: Well, I'm not dead or unconscious, so I say bravo for me.

Spike's Bitches 40: Buckle Up, Kids! Daddy's Puttin' the Hammer Down.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

The plastic spoons were soup spoons, which meant that you could only eat about half the custard before the cup got smaller than the spoon. I don't know if this was poor planning or a sociological experiment.

Pah - that's easy! You use the handle to eat with!

....do I win some creme brulee? Do I? Do I?

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

You use the handle to eat with!

That's what we did, because who lets a little thing get in the way of creme brulee?

The status is NOT quo.

I'll be thinking about you and your sister tomorrow, Aimee. Hang in there.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Lots of vibes for your sister tomorrow, Aimee.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Susan and Aimee, strength to you both.

Why did I think moving was a good idea again? I'm still sleeping in the old house. Only now all my crap is in boxes.

The status is NOT quo.

So remember that job weirdness I started to write about and then decided it was way too complicated for the anonymity of a public board? I wrote about it in my LJ this morning and would appreciate some feedback if anyone gets a chance. It's long, so no worries if you don't have the time or energy.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

On-screen and off, Grant was pursued by women, but his openly gay relationship with Randolph Scott lasted until both were pressured by studios to marry.

There's a famous photo of Grant and Scott in trunks, sitting poolside at the house they shared together with their arms around each other's shoulders.

Later Cary married Dianne Cannon and fathered a child with her. And he took LSD.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Why did I think moving was a good idea again? I'm still sleeping in the old house. Only now all my crap is in boxes.

Because at the end, all new house!

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Much ~ma to your sister, Aimee.

(and I totally LOVE that you get such nerdy joy from the library, BTW).

I'd forgotten how much I love roaming the stacks of a university library. That old book smell! And while UW can't be said to have an extensive military history collection, they do have books on Wellington and Napoleon that the Seattle library doesn't--and I can keep them for 12 weeks and renew them, instead of three weeks with no renewal like interlibrary loan.

I got the following email from Ex-Army Brother this evening (Brenda is our aunt who sent the previous email):

I just had a nice phone talk with Mother, and she said that Brenda always makes things sound worse than they are. She understands her situaton, but seems very much at peace with it. She said that the doctor has had very good results with this particular chemo drug, but was very clear that it will at best slow the cancer, so she will have to take it for the rest of her life, or until she is too sick to want any more of it. She had chemo yesterday, and still feels good today, so is hopeful that it will not make her sick. She is looking forward to her trip out here, and we are very much looking forward to seeing her.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

Humbug. Landlord sent his yearly note raising my rent. Bah. Can I just ignore it? He sent it regular post. Even with the raise in rent, it's still below market rate. Bah. I hate it still.
