clearly I need to see Avenue Q. That's the musical that gave us, "The Internet is for Porn" as well, isn't it?

Spike's Bitches 40: Buckle Up, Kids! Daddy's Puttin' the Hammer Down.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Happiness at the misfortune of others....that IS German!
I think online registration for wedding gifts is a great idea. However, I just went to the second set of registries in which the couple put on the list everything they might want to buy sometime. I just don't think of concrete retaining blocks or epoxy garage floor coating as wedding gifts. It's not that they have a list at Lowes; I think a chain saw or a fire extinguisher is a reasonable gift. It's that the registry reads like a shopping list. You start expecting them to include detergent and toilet paper.
Am I out of touch?
teeheehee. He's still stumped. Obviously this is my 25% German coming to the front.
Are they building a house, Ginger? In that case I can see it. Otherwise no.
They own a house already.

I feel this about most registries, but, then again, I usually don't use them. If I don't know you well enough to have a gift idea? Then I'm probably not going to your wedding.
That is a weird registry. We registered for a bunch of things but it's all house kitcheny things.
Speaking of weddings, I just got invited to a last minute one. No idea what to wear, and I can't find anything in the stores.
The registries in question were for my cousin's son and, most recently, a good friend's son, so I don't know them well.
Also, is it tacky to buy what they want elsewhere? Crate & Barrel (one of the places they're registered) would not be my first choice for things like cake pans.

It's not tacky, but it can lead to annoying duplicate gifts that have to be returned.
