And I have a great love for Superman Returns, though I know there are a lot of folk here who didn't like it.
I *loved* Superman Returns. And I really didn't expect to, going in - I expressly dislike Kate Bosworth, have become increasingly skeptical of Kevin Spacey, and the idea of another Superman movie was kind of meh. But I wound up falling completely head over heels for it.
(Though it's another on that list of "don't really want the DVD because the big screen experience was so BIG" movies, so I haven't seen it since it was in theatres. I'm just not sure how it'd play on a television.)
What else am I forgetting? Is Hellboy 2 this summer?
Batman and Iron Man and Hulk and Hellboy and Speed Racer and Wall-E and Indiana Jones and X-Files.
insert name of Iron Man
Tony Stark.
t edit
And, really, Robert Downey Jr. is kinda perfect to play Tony Stark.
Not [insert name of Iron Man]
That would be Tony Stark, Aims.
Although I have a shameful fondness for the second Tim Burton Batman movie (Batman Returns, maybe?), with the Penguin and Catwoman.
I guess you're also sharing a brain with me. Without a doubt my favorite of the two Burton B-Man's. I'm pretty sure that has a LOT to do with Michelle Pfeiffer, though I did find Keaton an interesting choice for Batman, and he got more to do in Batman Returns.
Kevin Spacey
Best part of the movie. First time I ever wanted Clark to have his pansy ass kicked.
Saying "Loi-th Lane?" around his toothbrush KILLED me ded.
Ha! Beatcha, P-C!
Batman and Iron Man and Hulk and Hellboy and Speed Racer and Wall-E and Indiana Jones and X-Files.
I don't know how I feel about Hulk, and I can take or leave Speed Racer, and I'm kind of MEH on Wall-E, and X-Files is sorta....over, for me.
But Iron Man! And Hellboy! And Dark Knight! And INDY!!!!
Dark Knight isn't until December, I think.
I wanna see Iron Man right now!
I'm not sure I've ever had cause to say this, but: MM, get outta my brain!
Heh. Maybe not. But I think you and I are one with the "WTF?! He's a skeevy disco guy? THIS is 'evil Pete'? THIS?!"
Also: "PICK A FUCKING VILLAIN! Has the first Batman movie franchise taught you NOTHING?! One villain: Awesome. Two villains: Can still be awesome. THREE VILLAINS: Constructed Entirely of SUCK!"
They WASTED all three villains! Sandman...well, that wasn't so great a story-line, so I don't mind that they wasted it. I DO mind that they wasted my time by including it at all.
New Goblin: Could have been awesome. Not enough time. Wasted.
Venom: WAY TO BRING HIM IN TOO LATE TO DO ANYTHING, RAIMI! Jesus! If Venom had been the only villain, maybe you'd have had enough time to do some decent "power corrupts", "Parker goes back to his roots, triumphs over evil in self" "Fights Venom as Embodiment of Corruption, triumphs over evil in general." But NOOOOOOOO!!
Hmph. Still mad about that.
Tony Stark makes you feel,
He's a cool exec with a heart of steel.
And IRON MAN all jets ablaze,
He fights and smites with repulsor rays!
Amazing armor, it's IRON MAN!
A blazing bomber, it's IRON MAN!!
