I wonder if the music choices don't sometimes make the problem. In trying to do traditional moves to non traditional music, they sometimes get caught, maybe dancing to the lyrics, not the music.

I don't know, after watching International Standard and International Latin competitions these past two weeks on PBS (where top couples danced to music like "Smells Like Teen Spirit"), I'm a little more forgiving when it comes to songs.

She's really a great dancer. I just hate her personality and voice.

Cannot be said enough. Kayla is a gorgeous dancer. It's just a shame that she is so stank.

I wonder if the music choices don't sometimes make the problem. In trying to do traditional moves to non traditional music, they sometimes get caught, maybe dancing to the lyrics, not the music.

Also this. The rhythm in that Lady Gaga song wasn't even a samba beat. I felt badly for the kids because they were trying to do moves to music that just did not fit at all. Compare that Gaga mess to Danny and Lacey's samba to Hip Hip Chin Chin, just the music. Totally different beat. I mean they still danced it poorly, but they were handicapped from the jump by the awful, awful music choice.

I think the nadir was the paso doble to "We Will Rock You."

Heinous. And Chuy was magnificent in that routine, too, which makes it even more criminal. I still maintain that this was one of the contributing factors to his wholly undeserved early exit from the show.

I will be really upset if Evan knocks out either Ade or Brandon tonight, but I can totally see it happening.

I actually voted last night, that's how much I don't want Evan to get through.

Socks are a running theme throughout the series. They are used as symbols of freedom, redemption and love.

Yes, I enjoyed Evan in the first half of the competition, but he should really have left a few weeks ago.

this is why i love PacMan aka Phillip. i think he and his Marvelous Motion cohorts need to go on America's Best Dance Crew. it's more their thing than SYTYCD ever will be.

Very late, but finally up is my blog for last night's show if you are so inclined.

I think Evan has a greater than 50% chance of getting past Ade, and I think if Melissa sneaks into the finale it will be at the expense of Kayla rather than Jeanine. I wouldn't mind any of the three girls making it to the finale, but I will be pissed if Evan makes it in.

As usual, your post made my day. The Ade/Ice Castles rant was especially choice.

Well, Ice Castles is a great, great movie. Robbie Benson's feathered 'do is a thing of beauty and that little skater girl can rock a Peter Pan collar like few others. And honestly, that's my best guess on why Ade's solos are so jank. Other than that, I got nothing.

Because books.

I haven't read the blog yet, but man, did I ever loooooove Ice Castles in my day.
