Hey, that's my cousin! Except, yeah, he kind of is. Though IME with the men in that family, they are all secretly very shy and put on an overly genial front to cover which looks a lot like Michael's on-air skeeviness (I don't actually know him personally, he might be skeevy irl, too).
I can definitely buy it as a Persona.
I can totally see a line like "If I had a face like yours I wouldn't have to cook for a living" coming out of trying to cover for shyness, but still - EW.
I wonder if they all ate the fancy corn dogs in the stew room.
SYTYCD: I often watch the dances without sound at work, at the desk. It is fascinating - I can see the dancers so much better in silence. I can really evaluate the dancing steps and synchronization better when there is no sound.
Also, in the Top 10 number, I can tell the girls apart by their legs better than their faces (except Melissa and Kayla, who were obvious.) Ha!

I hope so. I bet they were delicious. I feel bad for him - if he'd served anything for that challenge he probably would have won the whole thing, huh? Part o the challenge, I supose, but still.
That's interesting, flea. I was noticing last night how hard it is for me to separate my reactions to dance technique, choreography, and music, and also how hard it is for me to see the individuals separately whether they are in a group or partnered. Which I knew, but I was actively trying to notice individual performances and was forcibly reminded that that's hard.

Hmm, that's interesting. I wonder if the Kupono/Randi dance would have looked better without sound. One of my issues is that the music was SO much stronger than the dancing.

Yeah, and I hated the music! So I sort of lost interest right away.
I actually loved the music, but was disappointed that the dance moves weren't sharper, stronger, etc.
Did anyone stick with The Fashion Show? If so, what did you yhink of the collections?
I did, actually. I was disappointed that Reco didn't make it, but I wasn't surprised.
I suspect that Anna will win, although her "collection" was less a collection that a bunch of looks with an extremely tenuous throughline of "navy blue" @@
I actually really liked Reco's collection and thought that the feather dress was really neat. I would love to send Reco to Paris for a year to study with various designers and see what he comes up with.
I thought the collections were interesting except for that crazy gray/black collection. That literally had to be the most depressing collection I have ever seen. Even the music would make a person want to kill herself.
I didn't seen how any of that was ready to wear, but the others I could envision it a bit. I like Reco's use of color and was irritated the judges felt otherwise.
