Because books.

Evan and Randi just make me happy when I watch them (okay, except for that samba, which was pretty watch from the hall). On the other side of that is that Evan made me happy in auditions, whereas I didn't notice Randi much at that point. So it will be interesting to see what happens when everyone is re-paired.

I'm very much of the simple "like what I like" mindset, I think. I don't know much about the techniques at all.

"We have trust issues." Mylar

I have loved Evan since his very first audition last season, but there's no way around the fact that he has underperformed this season. It didn't just start with Wednesday night, although Wednesday night I thought both he and Randi gave very poor performances. He was not even all that great in the Broadway piece he and Randi got. And I mean, I wasn't wowed by the choreography in that piece, but he should've been better than he was. It's not enough just to be able to do one type of dancing, at least not on this show. I thought he would be more versatile than he is turning out to be. I still think he'll go deep into the top 10, and I'd still take him over Jason and maybe even over Kupono. I don't see any reason that he should outlast either Ade or Brandon, but I think he's got a shot to get by at least one of them and land in the top 2 guys just due to the cuteness factor and the built in fan base from having been featured prominently both last season and this one from very early on in the audition process.

Randi I really could care less about. She is a unitard wearing, competition studio dancer with an unfortunately round face that is not done any favors by her current hairstyle. Every girl left I think is far superior to her in terms of both technique and charisma. That said, I have enjoyed her in the top 20 more than I ever thought I would, so there's that.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Part of what I liked about Ade's solo was his choice of music. It was so different from everything else we'd heard.

I have loved Evan when he's performing stuff that he's done or his brother choreo'd for him. Maybe that's it.

I am TOTALLY loving both Jeanette and Jeanine. OMG. They're both great. The girls are doing it for me this season. (Er, except for Randi. Who is not) I even liked Caitlin--she didn't have charisma, but I thought she was lovely when she danced. I wanted to see her with someone other than Jason. (I'm also not really a Kayla fan, but I can see the pretty dancing)

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Well, I think Evan got a short-shrift with the judges on the Broadway they did, because I thought he carried that off rather well. And I thought he did a good job with the jive. But really, when you compare to the performance that Vitolio gave, it's like I've been waiting all season for Evan to give a hint of the smooth, controlled ability he showed before the season started. I'm kind of hoping he's not getting ground down by this, because that's the quickest way for him to get bumped off the island. He could come back from that if he'd just, like, put everything out there on the stage.

I've been very, very pleasantly surprised by Ade, but I'm curious to see how much of that was him rising to Melissa's clear technique standard, you know?

TCM: Wow, this became way more entertaining than I expected it to be. But I'm of the thought that they could really only do it once, right? Unless TC has gained way more credibility in the culinary industry than I realized?

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

So far so good. Evan and Kayla looked pretty good. Not great, but ok.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Kayla once again gets away with dancing barefoot. At least this time, she had an excuse.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh! I'm pretty sure I saw an ad that Cat is hosting some show on Game Show Network. 21Q or some shit?
