I am just finishing up SYTYCD - the Wade routine was so interesting.
I just love Shankman as a judge, because he gives really useful critique.
liked the mandy routine.

And you know, I don't think I said this at the time, but my favorite part of him in the auditions was how he encouraged hobby dancers to keep on dancing -- I really believed that he meant it, and wasn't condescending.
oh and I meant to say that on tvguide channel before the show is reality chat and D'orio was on talking about how the selection of top 20 is not really about best dancers, but about casting the show. kinda interesting. made me wonder if the katie best friend/brandon friend girl was cut without asking to dance for her life to create drama and also because she could be on in the fall and another white contemporary girl dancer, not really what they needed. I am positive they do not want two people getting through together who have a connection.
What is Cat wearing? It's like a spider spun a doily out of leftover X-mas tinsel.
I'm watching again.
msbelle,
I think they will cast katie's best friend for the Fall season - they need to create buzz for that.
on rewatch -
loved the first dance
the difference btw Tyce dance #1 and #2 could not be wider.
I didn't get any connection btw the two dancer in the Bway - Asuka and Vitolio
I thought the girl in the chacha was hot (Karla, right?), but didn't she push out her chest when extending her arms back.
On a second watch, I like the second Napoleon/Tabitha dance a lot better than I did initially - I think the first half was good and fun - it was sloppy though, right? and then the last third just lost my interest.
Damn Tasty Oreo. Someone please steal that man's copy of the Chicago score. Can he choreograph from any other Broadway show? And it was ridiculous choreo anyway. Any halfway decent dancer in an intermediate/advanced class at your local studio could've done it. There was no there there.
Damn NappyTab. Typically overly literal interpretation of that Ne-Yo song. It's not mime, NappyTab. Eh. I'm meh on the first two, although Chbeeb and Jeanine killed it.
Cha Cha to Poker Face? Really, Tony? And what happened to Melanie? I know she would not have let it go down like that. Once I got past the distracting music, I enjoyed. Her hip action was awesome, but Shankdaddy was right that Jonathan's hip action left a little to be desired. And he barely made it through on that split through the legs. Still and all, it was a fun routine, and they did hit some lovely lines.
Nigel can stuff it with all the "under the radar" crap. Whose fault is it that they didn't have any camera time during early audtion rounds, the tooth fairy?
2nd half rewatch
bollywood - she was behind or he was rushed in a couple of places that threw me off. it is so fun to watch, but I don't think it was near as clean as the one last year.
foxtrot - ok. fine, good, I dunno
wade dance - liked it on rewatch, really liked the girl in that a lot.
mandy dance - loved omg loved there was a bit in the middle where the take steps backward that I really liked- wtf richard marx though.
last dance - the other latin one - yeah that was fun. she is fun to watch.
