Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I love Carmindy.

Because books.

Carmindy is pretty cool, even though she does tend to use more makeup than I think she should for people who are going from NONE to some.

I would kill to have Nick cut my hair, though. Just so I could listen to him talk, really.

Yeah--I actually ended up seeing the "Blossom" episode the other day, and she put a TON of makeup on someone whose whole thing was the hippy-boho style of no makeup at all. I was like...seriously? I'm sure the woman used to wear tons of makeup in front of a camera, but...you just put multiple foundation flavors and brightener and blah blah blah on her. Do you REALLY think she's going to do that, five minutes or no? Maybe try a tinted moisturizer?

Exactly! You could tell Mayim was like, "Uh huh. Sure."

But she means well!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I tend to think of the makeup as the equivalent of the mannequins -- here's something to look at, and if you can meet us in the middle, we'll call it good.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I hate the glossy lipstick Carmindy puts on everyone.

"We have trust issues." Mylar

I think they have to put a lot of make up on you when you are on TV. I doubt that's what Carmindy would do if you just went to her for an everyday consultation.

The only reason that I wouldn't want to go to Nick is that, like most hairdressers and Mia Michaels, he's a cutter. Although, I am always impressed that Nick can get down with black hair as well as he does. I don't know that they've ever had an african american woman on the show without a relaxer who wore her hair straight, but I would love to see what he'd do with that.

Punishingly Intricate

I just feel like Carmindy always has something really specific and positive to say.

I know! I love that. I loved the derby girl they did this week. Such a great attitude!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Anyone else watching NFNS? It definitely seems like the casting is improved from last season (in both the level of cooking ability and the personalities).

My one big giant complaint is that all the male competitors either own or work in restaurants vs NONE of the female competitors (there's 1 personal chef, 1 restaurant consultant & the rest are housewives). GenderFAIL, Food Network!

Because books.

I watched it, Jessica. I noticed that, too.

The dietician contestant is from my parents' hometown, as well. I didn't love her, though.
