It's so funny because with a pursed mouth and an "I'm disappointed", Debbie did more to establish her diva cred than Mia did with her entire "I love cutting people" speech. Learn from the master, child.
Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own
This thread is for non-fiction TV, including but not limited to reality television (So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef: Masters, Project Runway), documentaries (The History Channel, The Discovery Channel), and sundry (Expedition Africa, Mythbusters), et al. [NAFDA]
I felt that through the TV.
No kidding. Dayum. She knows how to make people whimper.
Yeah, it makes me sad to be on time delay. But I was SO SAD Natalie the redhead got cut OMG! WHAT!?!?!!? She was awesome!
And then what with letting Gabby stay? She was awful, except when she did her solo! She was not good in the choreography at all, even I could tell that! ARRRRRGH.
And yet, I love Vegas week. So awesome.
Oh! And and! I thought Nobuyo(?) the japanese popper was smart--he sounded like he'd been taking ballroom classes. Which, especially for people who tried out and didn't make it and want to try out again, I've never understood people who DON"T do that, take some classes outside their own style for that time in between. Clearly if you've made it to Vegas in your own style, you're good--so now take some hip hop/ballroom/jazz/whatever classes in the meanwhile...prep for making it through choreo and onto the show!
I know. I call huge bullshit on letting Gabi dance for her life but cutting Natalie outright. I think they are both beautiful dancers. I also agreed with the judges that neither one of them brought anything to their performance of Sonya's choreo. Brandon didn't either, for what it's worth. None of them lived up to their potential as dancers. But as we saw, Natalie and Brandon did turn that choreo all the way out in rehearsals. And Gabi bombed not only the jazz choreo, but the hip hop as well. And yet she gets a chance to dance for her life? Yeah, no. If you can't pick up choreography, you can't be a professional dancer. I'm so sorry. Thank you for playing.
Yeah, see I felt like that was the difference--Natalie maybe didn't bring it, but obviously she *could*--and it's not necessarily that she didn't hit the choreo, she just didn't hit it with everything she had (obviously a mistake). Gabi didn't even hit the choreo.
I always feel bad for the choreography groups, seeing how some of them just gel and some don't at all. I figure I'd probably end up in one of those groups that ends up with some lame idea that seems great and ends up just...blah, and ends up getting yelled at by Mia for going to bed at 4AM instead of magically coming up with a better idea at 5AM.
Ms. Debbie Allen giving Silky's group the gasface might be the best thing I've seen on my TV this month. And Lil C, “It’s not working and you will just not be advancing in this competition.” I heart those two soo much. Between those two and Shankdaddy getting all emotional with the last group, awww. I just love these judges.
I love Shankman. He is just the coolest.
Ok, they totally got me with Tony. So, so wonderful. I just adore that kid. And for a . . . what is he? A hip hopper? A tapper? Well obviously not a modern dance kid, I think he did a decent job. I think I even saw a couple of pointed toes in there. And how cute was he with Cat? When she was trying to coax a smile out of him before he went up to perform for a second time? So unbelievably cute.
Yes, tony is my fave. And I loved how he was making the muscle for Cat while he was crying :) I don't see him making it into the top 10 though. If he gets the right genres in the beginning, he might go somewhere.
I definitely came around to team Branden. Yay!
Yeah, me too, almost against my will. I think it was the final photos, plus the scenes with his mom.
