for those who aren't watching, the Sex battle is coming up in just a few.
Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own
This thread is for non-fiction TV, including but not limited to reality television (So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef: Masters, Project Runway), documentaries (The History Channel, The Discovery Channel), and sundry (Expedition Africa, Mythbusters), et al. [NAFDA]
Okay this is very funny. Ohh with Leo taking the win from Sex.
I loved Mia's comment about staying in reality this time.
Okay this is really cool with what's his name dancing wiht the girl and then they former contestants judging him. It was cute and light hearted and fun and nice.
That was very fun to see, especially that the whole thing came out of his saying offhand that he'd like to dance with her since she seemed to be having so much fun and her inviting him to join her onstage.
Since this is my first full season watching, I'm getting overdosed on that fake Mary smile--soooo annoying!!! I don't remember it bothering me that much last season, but that might be because I didn't start watching until they were down to their final ten dancers, and her having other judges around her dilutes the annoyance factor.
I loved when Adam danced with that girl! And showed that he CAN dance, heck! :) That was really cute.
Kathy, you are ALREADY OD'd on Mary? Oh dear...she's hardly screamed at all yet!
I am really annoyed that Nigel sends good hip hoppers to choreography
Yeah, but at the same time, I kinda figure it comes out in the wash in Vegas...
I loooooove the Vegas round--I could watch so much of that, really. Because it's auditions, but with GOOD people. And all different styles, and them having to stretch, and...I totally just wish I could be a fly on the wall there.
Other thing: I HATE that they gave so much time to "Sex"...and REALLY felt bad for the poor girl who had to PARTNER with him in the choreography round! EW. I would not want to TOUCH him much less dance with him, and have even a little bit his performance affect mine. GEEZ.
There is just nothing better than the Shank-daddy and how much he absolutely loves this show. And watching him dance with the Lindy Hopper was fantastic. Diva! I would so love to replace our current judges' panel with Adam, Lil C and Ms. Debbie Allen.
Things I also love about SYTYCD: Cat Deeley is willing to let lanky dancers sweat on her Prada and Gucci AND she can get down with the booty dancing. They do not drag out the early audition rounds for seven million weeks. And only good people make it through to Vegas. Even the hair flipping competition dancers have some grounding in solid training and better technique than your average bum off the street.
Thing I love about this season: You could practically make a Top 20 just out of kids who got cut during the audition rounds last season: Philip Chbeeb and his spaghetti arms, Evan "Mini-Gene Kelly" Kasprzak; that crazy good tapper girl that got cut on the last day; Brandon Bryant, what? Not to mention Natalie, who was always better than Katee of the egregious double "ee", Asuka and Ricky (who really is much, much better than last year), that man faced Asian girl who totally botched her music cue last season. And the new ones aren't chopped liver either. I love Kellen, the umbrella boy, although I really did want to beat him about the head with the prop and tell him to dry his tears. It's way too early for all that drama. I love the girl with Rheumatoid arthritis. I also loved the girl whose dad has multiple sclerosis and I totally had her pegged as this season's Kherington. Silky, and Sammy Ramirez, and Alexie, and Mariko the police officer, so many good new ones.
Things I have not loved so far: Seattle. Why can no one who lives there really dance? I will exempt that pretty boy from Hawaii and Kelsea, the weird girl who Mia fell in love with. Everybody else? Yeah, Seattle was working with a lot. Nigel and his pervy, homophobic ass. NappyTab are still here for some reason. Why, exactly? I could take them as choreographers as they are bound to turn out a decent routine every fourth or fifth dance, but why do they have to judge? Tasty Oreo and his bitchy ways. Just no. He does not have it like that, not with his tired, Fosse copying, "Cabaret is the only Broadway musical ever produced" believing ass. And I can't even speak on Sex. Just let it go. It wasn't all that funny the first time. And just all kinds of word about his poor, poor partner in the choreo round. And she was turning it out, too. It did look like she made it through, though, so there's that. I bet the producers pulled her aside and promised her that she'd make it through if she'd just agree to dance with that fool.
All in all, an excellent start to the season.
VEGAS Week!!
I forgot how relatively drama free SYTYCD is compared to the Vegas of AI.
Are these groups choreographing their own routines here?
Yes.
They were told after finding out who made it through the first cuts to stay up all night and make up a routine.
I must have missed that, but I got when Nerdography came on. That was so great!
I need to learn all these other judges' names. Which of them stick around all season?
