well, it would have been nice for them to show us all this.
My thoughts exactly. As much as I enjoy reading Tom C's blog, it shouldn't be required reading to understand what really went down.
I loved when Carla started talking about having learned classical technique. It was one of the few times she didn't sound dippy, and she backed it up with her dish. I'm hoping getting a few wins/near wins will give her spine a boost as well.
Hey foodies, I was wondering: What is black garlic? I've never heard of it.
Carla has grown on me so much. I mean, yeah, she's a little (okay, a lot) woo-woo, but she's always up for the challenges, and she's always pretty enthusiastic. No drama there, which is refreshing, and she's just
funny.
It's good to see her doing something other than dessert, too, and that's where she hasn't spoken up often enough. Just because you *can* do it doesn't mean you should let the others assume you will every time.
Black garlic is [regular garlic that's been] fermented until it turns black. I've never had it, but I want to.
Is there any way he doesn't win this?
Carla upset. With extra love power.
It's all I have left to root for.
I've pretty much given up on anyone but Stefan winning, but I really really want to see Carla beat Josea first. His whole "I just need to knock out the Euros" schtick last night was getting on my nerves.
Oooh, the black garlic does sound interesting.

Heh.
ooh, I'd be psyched if final 3 was Stephan, Fabio, and Carla. That would be a fun time in N'awlins!
Which isn't how they edited it, but I guess we have to take his word!
It seems like that happens kind of a lot. Like last week, it seemed really to be a toss-up between Fabio & Jeff being sent home but, in his blog, Tom C said Fabio's dish was really good except for the meat being overcooked (which is huge but still) and Jeff's was just bland & tasteless once the sorbet started melting.
I wouldn't be too upset if Stefan won because he does seem to be a very talented chef. Ilan, to me, seemed to get by on flash and luck and doing the one thing he knew how to do over and over.
And, despite how people were shying away from working with Stefan in a group due to his bossiness, he does actually seem to help out the other chefs.
