Tom has been pretty off of Tony since that insufferable episode where he and his foodie friends were at the Wayne DuFrey (???) restaurant talking about whatever. He was just SO SUPERIOR, it was nauseating. (I may have bitched about that here)
He actually posted in his blog that he thought the show was a huge mistake, he was horribly emabarassed by himself, and that the idea would not be repeated (in a large part based upon viewers reactions).
I just can't wait to see what he thought of B'more this time around. If he still hates it or what. I know he ate somewhere with Snoop from the Wire! I'm pretty sure he got lake trout because he mentioned somewhere (on his blog maybe?) about how it's neither from a lake nor is it trout. It's one of my fave b'more food facts!
When is the Baltimore episode coming up?
I'm curious if he'll do pit beef during the Baltimore episode.
His blog post about Chicago suggests that beef is on the menu in Baltimore.
I sent a friend Bourdain's post about Chicago and she emailed me back that Ripert is going to have his own show on PBS!!
The same can be said for San Francisco.
You know, I love this place, but it is
not
a city like NY or Chicago. It doesn't even have a million people. Most of the city is houses, not buildings.
It doesn't even have a million people.
I think that's why Bourdain called it "a nice town." I've never been (really want to, though!), but from what I've seen and read, it's a coastal, more elegant town-like city than Milwaukee, which is another city I'd more likely call a "town." Milwaukee has a certain small-town atmosphere to it that contrasts sharply with Chicago.
Wayne DuFrey
Wylie Dufresne? Molecular gastronomy guy in NYC.
Bourdain totally does pit beef in B'more. I'm not sure when the episode is airing though.

I was just coming here to post about that!
