Oh man I like Eugene but he's very lucky Daniel was delusional about the food. What a mess!!
I think it was clear Eugene new things were going wrong and was trying to salvage it, whereas Daniel was in full-on denial. The judges seem to be making the distinction this season a bit more than they have in some seasons past.

I really didn't understand why he didn't just make more rice! It's not like it takes that long. I wonder if the producers wouldn't let him.
Also, about last night's challenge, man that lamb and carrot dish looked delicious! But Jaime was being a brat about thinking she should win.
Oh and what the heck was the spice blend that they used in the carrots? I can kind of say it in my head but can't approximate the spelling well enough to look it up on the internets.

She also mentioned that sushi rice is something that they have readily available in the pantry - so that wasn't even an issue. And she talks about the wrongheadedness of frying the shrimp first.
