I do still have a tendency to vertigo, but it's never been as bad as that first time.

Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own
This thread is for non-fiction TV, including but not limited to reality television (So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef: Masters, Project Runway), documentaries (The History Channel, The Discovery Channel), and sundry (Expedition Africa, Mythbusters), et al. [NAFDA]
I once managed to go to the ER three times within the space of a year, but that's it (once for vertigo, once for an infected cat bite, and once when I had my stroke).

Seriously.
Apparently!
So, Top Design? I feel like it was obvious that Nathan was going to win, and I feel good about it.
I actually wasn't sure at first, Jesse. I didn't love his house as much as I wanted to, and Margaret was right about that wallpaper going up the stairs.
I felt like I could live in Ondine's house, and really liked all of it, but that it wasn't *quite* high-concept enough, especially that front room.
I actually thought Preston was going to win. I think in the end he was almost too polished. And I got that vibe that they both wanted to reward Nathan for taking chances and that they knew Preston was going to be really successful anyway.

Yeah, totally.
I really liked what Jonathan said about each of the three of them -- I was thinking they would never be competing against each other in real life, because no one person would want to hire more than one of them! I would totally pick Ondine for my own place.
Today I was jumping channels, and I was sucked in for a short time by an atrocious show on Bravo called "The Real Housewives of Atlanta." There was this one woman, Kim, I think, who keeps claiming that she's 29 (just, no. That's a rode hard, put up wet 29 there, honey.) and her super-secret Sugar Daddy is paying for her to become a country singer. Then they subjected us, the viewers, to listening to her sing, over and over, and over.... She's tone-deaf. Everything she sings is flat. Dallas Austin, a producer who should know better, apparently owes the Sugar Daddy big time, because he hasn't just tossed this woman out on her ass, but he did in desperation send her to a vocal coach. (That woman was just thrilled to learn Kim smokes like a chimney and can't find or hold a note.) The coach finally told Kim she doesn't know what she's doing, and she doesn't know how to find her pitch. So Kim just asked how important that was in the studio, really? And then you could practically hear crickets chirping. In the voiceover Kim was bitching that the coach was picking on her because she doesn't know the nuts and bolts of music theory, "But I don't need to know that. I'm a singer."
So, my question is -- does anyone follow this show? Can you tell me if reality ever smacks this woman in the face? Because I don't think I can bring myself to watch it again.
I would totally pick Ondine for my own place.
Totally! I loved all the wallpapers she used. It made me think of that as an option which I never have before. Of course, I'm sure all the ones they used cost oodles.
So, I'm out with my rugby gays enroute to the second bar of the night, and walk past another local bar (Halo for the locals), and this guy walks out who looks familiar. I realize it's Jack from PR Season 4!! I grab the nearest gay and say "oh, my god, is that Jack from Project Runway?!!" He says "I don't know." I roll my eyes, grab a few more gays, and none of them know!!! I stopped in the middle of the sidewalk and said "why do none of the gays in sight watch Project Runway!!" Then, a random boy says "yes, that was him" and I was satisfied.
We go the next bar (JRs), I glance over into the corner and holy shit, it's Rami!!! Apparently, there's some design conference at the Convention center that he was speaking at, so he was in town for the night. I didn't talk to him. I liked his clothes, but wasn't particularly excited by him as a person. If it had been Chris March, I would have been over there professing my love :)
So, nothing exciting, just a sighting. but still!
