They beat out the Geeks in a footrace (as one of the geeks pointed out, a footrace with an ex NFL player was only going to have one result).

Hah. Well. Unless he had bad knees. I was happy to at least get to see the geeks kick ass at the challenge they did.

The highlights of the last half of the show (that I recall): Geeks were the only ones to do the container detour, and they aced it by being first in their taxis on the way to the roadblock. Everyone else did the brute strength detour, but the Divorcees got held up by getting the info from both of the detours mixed up and they started looking for a container (I believe they were thinking Tupperware-sized) after finishing getting the boat into the water. It took them a while to realize they were doing something no one else was and finally get to their taxi.

Speaking of, Team Needy Guy missed the marked path to the taxis and ended up in town searching for a taxi. They might still be there if it wasn't for Mom and Son stopping while passing them and pointing out that the taxi parking lot was back at the beach.

The roadblock was a rather poorly designed one that involved writing down a list of town names and asking a local which one was the pit stop destination. It took a few teams some time to realize that was what they were supposed to do, instead of getting bogged down by all the advertising signs also painted on the wall along with the list. Oh, and they also had to ask their taxis to wait for them, which the Divorcees forgot to do. It took them a while to realize that their taxi was in the holding area with the rest of the taxis and hadn't driven away completely, so they fell about five slots back after the roadblock.

The bottom two teams not eliminated were the Frat Boys and the Pink Southern Belles (complete ditzes).

Well, I liked that the detour emphasized not over-thinking the clue and that the people who did themselves in were pretty much the ones who did just that. (I'm talking mainly about Nick here.)

Long Way Down: I hope that Fox intends to show the final episode since they somehow screwed up and showed the penultimate episode this week AND next week.

It sounded to me like they were people who bought into the whole American Dream ideal--need enough to buy a 3000 square foot house, two SUVs, and have college funds for all of our kids before we even get engaged.

And judging from his extremely rational financial plan of "let's go on a TV game show!" I'm sure it's not a lame excuse to cover up deep-seated committment issues, either.

I was rolling my eyes a bit at Team Geek's "Put us in front of a computer and we'll tear it up!" at the Detour. I mean...okay, technically you were using a computer, but it's not like reading that list of numbers was taking mad hacker skills.

Yeah, but I bet if another team had done that challenge it would have taken them much longer. As quickly as the geeks were scanning through, I'm not sure another team would have thought how best to process that volume of data...scanning for the beginning digits, etc. And then with the codes, the geeks were quick to suss what they stood for and how to identify the containers they were looking for.

We were glad that the out couple was out. If they had won it would have been disastrous to their relationship. But seriously, people, issues there.
