Kenley needs a good smack. Once again, she was laughing at another designer on the runway, and it was completely inappropriate. She and her "mini-me" were both laughing. Terrible. and she has the fucking nerve to dismiss Tim. I liked her in the beginning, but she has turned into a real bitch. I know that some of it is editing, but the runway laughing is unacceptable.

Also, most of the makeovers were blah, but none of them other than Elina's made me want to smack Tyra all around, so it was far from the worst makeover ever. And Elina's was bad, but not as bad as it looked at first. Though she looked better in her picture because it looked BROWN in the picture rather than Orphan Annie RED. It looked awful to start with because it was a TRIANGLE, all curly in a shape like someone who doesn't know how to cut curly hair would make it. Like it needed to be shaped or longer or SOMETHING. But it was looking better later, so I don't know if it was just styled bad, or they re-cut it, or what.

Mostly the episode just felt crazy rushed. Like "OK, next makeover next swimsuit next photo next model next next next OK she's cut and we're done! WHEW!"

And I never want to see Tyra dripping juice from her mouth OR Jay kissing her ever ever ever again.

ANTM: Thank you, meara, for the red triangle description because I figured out what it reminded me of: Dilbert's pointy triangle haired boss lady! Um, fierce? Hated it. Also hated Clark, which i think is mostly her fault for making such a pinchy face in her picture. There was much to laugh at in this episode... I love when they have to act really excited to go to Wal-Mart. At least Hannah finally found something that they probably DO have in Alaska.

Runway: I guess I understand that a suit isn't the only option for professional wear, especially for a graphic designer, but it seemed kind of ridiculous to me how easily the judges dismissed the suit concept. Yes, Joe's suit made his client look like Tweedledee. But we don't all work in the fashion industry, and unless I'm hopelessly out of touch a suit is still the interview fallback.

Suede has to be a goner at this point, right? The Selena reference was great. I was thinking Christina Applegate in "Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead."

Well, Joe was making an outfit for a client in graphic design. I don't think that a standard suit was appropriate - something suit-inspired but less conservative. (I love that Joe commented on how he was going to use this opportunity to show how well he can tailor.)

she looked horrible. Aside from being inappropriate, it fit badly. That blouse was horrible, and lining the jacket with an irridescent fabric (that didn't seem to match anything else) didn't help. To me, graphic designer says bold prints and architectural details, not pinstripes. I hate to agree with Kenley, but the pocket square was a total no go as well.

I would have done a pinstripe jacket with some kind of cool, modern twist, a brightly colored top and then a skirt/pant/jean that was not in the pinstripe fabric.

There's no reason for a pocket square unless you're Diane Keaton starring in Baby Boom 2: Grandchild Boogaloo.

ETA: In fact, I have done that outfit myself for meetings. Only with a bright shoe instead of a bright top. (hee)

yes! And, if nothing else, very put together. My graphic designer friend with amazing taste often does something chic office traditional with like a fun vintage piece. Never anything fussy.

I'm over sticking up for Kenley. She was ass this challenge. As was Leanne in the beginning with her "I don't want to make an outfit for an old lady." FUCK YOU LEANNE! And that jacket was the total Squat Maker.
