Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own
This thread is for non-fiction TV, including but not limited to reality television (So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef: Masters, Project Runway), documentaries (The History Channel, The Discovery Channel), and sundry (Expedition Africa, Mythbusters), et al. [NAFDA]
...I don't watch the show, and I'm only skimming what you guys say, but as a Virgo, I'm suddenly afraid. Very afraid. Except, apparently, relieved.
Just watched Top Model, and the photo shoot looked pretty cool, except I always feel kinda bad when there's a shoot and several girls are obviously kicking ass, because it makes me feel really bad for the few girls who just Don't Get It. That said, I love Elina, and am very scared for the Makeover Episode now. Don't ruin her, evil Tyra!! Don't ruin the French girl either!! Or shiny fake-Michelle Trachtenburg's hair. But do fix crazy UFC girl's hair. And that Clark girl. She needs help.
I was sad to see Terri go, even if I was also getting pretty sick of her attitude. I agree with the judges that she blew this challenge, but I thought for sure she'd go further than Suede.
I didn't hate Kenley's design, but it was a little Alice in Wonderland for me. I really liked that she was one of the few who didn't take the literal translation of her zodiac sign.
NO clue how Jerrel won this with Leanne's fantastic Scorpio design in the mix. Other than using ugly fabrics and making them interesting, I didn't see anything "avant-garde" about his look. It was a dress with a funky jacket over it.
The thing I didn't get was the aufed designers helping. Heidi was clear that it wasn't a chance for any of them to come back, so what the hell was in it for them? I can see it making it impossible for any of the competing designers to blame a failure on their assistants, because it's not like they could get aufed again.
So yeah, aside from that "Bravo Owns My Soul" idea, it seemed like a strange dynamic to me. That said, it worked pretty well for almost everybody but Terri.
Kenley's dress seemed like a caricature of avant garde to me. But then avant garde seems to be one of those terms like "literary" -- it's going to mean something different to everyone.

The winner was chosen by the past-season contestants, right? I can definitely see Jerrell working the room and Leanne....not.

That is a very good point.
And that is pretty much what Tim said.
I suppose you guys noticed (as I did) that NONE of the designers were Earth signs? Therefore no Virgo, Capricorn or Taurus.
And the only water sign was Scorpio. (Aquarius is actually an air sign. AIR.)
All three fire signs were represented and 2 out of 3 air signs. (Libra the other air sign.)
You know Tabitha is less successful than Gordon but more positive going in that she is going to be successful. Which is amusing.
Apparently ALL SIX pr contestants are showing at Bryant Park. I wonder how bitter Terrie is NOW?
The Project RunGay guys are twittering from the show.
damn. all SIX? wow.
they are trying to wrap this shit UP.

Someone was a Taurus, I can't remember who, but they were paired with Aries. I remember pitying them.
ETA: You'd think with all the Aries I've dated, I'd be able to spell it.
