This thread is for non-fiction TV, including but not limited to reality television (So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef: Masters, Project Runway), documentaries (The History Channel, The Discovery Channel), and sundry (Expedition Africa, Mythbusters), et al. [NAFDA]
I was just mentioning over in Natter that I'm going to try and take my dad to Tramonto's Steakhouse in Wheeling, IL on Sunday (belated Father's Day/birthday gift), which was the restaurant featured in the final Chicago episode of Top Chef this past season.
Should be fun and delicious!
NFNS - apparently, FN let the cat out of the bag and announced the winner and put the losers exit interviews up on their website last night. (And then took them down I believe.)
Whoops.
If I cared more I'd google. Sadly...
I haven't watched the show with anything approaching diligence (a snippet here and there) but from what little I saw, I have a good guess who it is, especially based on who the final three are.
I voted for Will! I voted for Mark, too. I think it was the Melinda Doolittle effect. Everyone thought everyone was voting for him/her, so some people didn't vote for him/her.
Wow, I'm really shocked about Will, and agree that he didn't get votes because everyone assumed he would be fine. Yikes!
Oh, now I read that not only did they name the winner, post the exit interviews with the losers - they also added the winner's tv show to their drop down menu.
sumi, I read the same thing. I think it is kind of hilarious.
I'm actually away on vacation, so I won't now feel pressed to watch the show. I know who the winner is, so that's fine with me.
I know!
The incompetence is just amazing. But it does mean that I know I made the right decision in choosing the Mad Men premiere over the NFNS finale.
In makeover-show news, I think the women on this week's What Not To Wear (Olympic hopeful swimmer) and How To Look Good Naked (curvy mother) were wearing the same dress! Or very similar, anyway. It makes me want to get one, since it apparently looks good on anyone.
I really like How To Look Good Naked, and I think a big part of it is that just looking at your body a lot and focusing on how it looks OK goes a long way.
