Buffy: A Guide, but no water or food. So it leads me to the sacred place and then a week later it leads you to my bleached bones? Giles: Buffy, really. It takes more than a week to bleach bones.

Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own

Oh how funny--so, flipping through channels, I ended up on "Dance With Me", a trashy dance movie with Vanessa Williams and Chayanne that I'd seen when it first came out and since entirely forgotten about. It of course has the same plot as every other dance move ever (seasoned professional needs the spark of an amateur to get love of dance back!). But the movie was just about over and I wasn't paying attention until I looked up as the credits rolled...and who was billed as the professional dancers but some of the SYTYCD choreographers Jean Marc Generaux, France Mousseau, Tony Meredith, and Melanie Lapatin! heh.

Finally caught last week's Design Star. Man. What a mess. And yet - strangely without tension. I'm guessing that's because Tracee wasn't around all day. (I wonder how she thought that Mike V. was going to tile by her deadline w/o tiles?)

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

sumi,

someone commenting on twop said that her mother felt that Tracee split because she didn't want to deal with the other contestants and that's why she was gone all day.

this seems plausible. stupid, but plausible.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I can't wait to read Jess' reaction to this weeks twist on NFNS, since the did the exact OPPOSITE of what she was hoping they'd do for an "unprecedented" decision.

Because books.

I thought tonight was the last night, too. Was it supposed to be? Or do they always (usually) get down to two contestants?

Aaron's presentation was so painful. Jesus.

Tonight was supposed to whittle down to a final two, but they're going with a final three next week, which they've never done before.

Aaron's presentation was watch from the hall, but his promo was really good (and seemed to require less substantial editing than the others). I think if he hadn't also tanked the bulk of his food, he would have done a lot better.

His food was so incredibly unambitious - it didn't even really go for the BIG flavor that was supposed to be his trademark.

Plus - did you notice him pouring ranch dressing from a bottle - while Adam was making his own sauces? Very, very weak.

On Design Star I was surprised: I really thought that Trish had it in the bag - I am pleased that this wasn't the case. I like both Matt and Jennifer. I think that either would be interesting and a much better choice than in the past two seasons.

Indeed. And even before that, going with three pastas? There's simple and then there's lazy; he went for lazy.
