Hung makes it to the semi-finals in a prestigious chef contest.

(Okay, I don't totally understand what the Bocuse d'or is but it appears to be an international contest of chefs.)

oh yeah, it's huge. It is THE cooking competition. Isn't it the one where some American chef won with fried chicken?

Well...fried chicken is pretty freaking good if done right.

They are in a tizzy because one of the participants (a chef from Craft) withdrew.

I would not know about the fried chicken - because I had not heard of this before today.

I seem to recall a story about some huge cooking competition that was won by an american chef who made southern fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, and collard greens.

yeah, no shit.

SYTYCD:

I agree that the pas de deux could not have been choreographed for any other pair of people in the competition besides Will and Katee. I mean damn. Can you imagine Comfort and Thayne doing that routine?

WTF?

PR was great last night. They need to stop casting drama queens though. Overly tanned fool needs to go. That outfit was the fucking worst. I would have been fine with them kicking his ass out the door instead of serial killer designer.

Or Comfort and Twitch? But then it makes me very very suspicious, and annoyed. Because if they set that up, then I get all the more suspicious of the partner and dance choices not being at all random. I mean, I guess I don't actually think the partner choices are all that random at the beginning--clearly they set the tall people up and so on, because they wouldn't have put Gev with Khourtni but...And I guess I'm not TOO upset by that. But the dance choices? I want to believe that's not all a setup. Especially when someone seems to be getting really screwed by the dance choices.

I'm certain the pas de deux would have looked different with other dancers. I'm also sure that the quickstep Will and Jessica did would have looked different if it had been Chelsie and Gev. Could Gev have done the lift Twitch did with Comfort? Kherington?

The choreographers must routinely substitute one move for another because the dancers can't do something.
