I feel like I should do a Bourdain/Ripert report over here, since they talked a lot about Top Chef and other food TV... But I'm afraid I'll forget all the best parts.
Ripert said he did ask Jen WTF happened with her, and also that (maybe right when she got eliminated? around then) she had stolen a cell phone from a crew member and called him to tell him she was getting screwed. He was like, yeah, nothing I can do about that.
Bourdain said he actually felt bad about how much he had slammed Fabio on the first episode -- that it was actually much worse than what we saw on TV. While he was eating other dishes, he kept going back to how terrible Fabio's was, all caught up in vortex of hate and meanness. But then Fabio -- in the most charming way possible -- threatened to kick his ass, and they are all good. Per Bourdain.
I don't know what else, but they were both awesome in their very different ways.
Oh, this was funny -- they were talking about TV chefs, and Ripert didn't know a lot of them. So I turned to my friend and said, you can tell which one of them has a real job.... And then some guy in the front yelled out the same thing! And then Bourdain did a funny Ina Garten impression.
But then Fabio -- in the most charming way possible -- threatened to kick his ass, and they are all good. Per Bourdain.
I so want to see this buddy comedy.

That's surprising, and really sad. Get it together, girl. Geez.
Jesse, that show sounds like a lot of fun. I almost got tickets for it, but couldn't quite justify the price to myself.
ION, I was catching up on some PBS cooking show on my DVR, and I'm watching Simply Ming, and his guest is Susur Lee (who was on TCM)!
I was all like "Susur! Where you been?" Weird. I get used to seeing people on my TV and then they go away and I wonder where they've gone.
I know so many more chefs now, at least by face. And then I get confused, because they keep crossing over -- chefs I've seen on Bravo on Food Network and vice versa.
There was a really old Iron Chef America on a couple weeks ago, and I knew I recognized the challenger. Turned out he had been on Top Chef Masters.
TAR: I really enjoyed the episode. Amusing challenges - although I still really want Ron and Christina gone and unfortunately they did rather well this time.
And who was that guy Christina is engaged to? He wasn't a racer, right?
I wish there was somewhere to watch online.
It's not on CBS.com? Most of their shows are available the next day.
