The Sing-Off is way to short.
That is a bit of what I like about it. It doesn't drag on so there is no time for ugly game playing or fake drama. I love a show that leaves me wanting more.
Thank goodness they've dialed down the 'trauma' aspect of the personal packages to a degree. Yes, the oldster had a rough go and Jeremy from the Street was kicked around by the music business...but last year, the sad story seeking was so melodramatic. It cracked me up that the worst thing they could come up with for the Bubs was that one of them was an only child!
I'll check out Nicole on youtube. Despite the comparisons to Paula Abdul, I'm okay with Nicole's goofiness and she clearly has the talent to back up her position on the panel.
Both Shaun and Ben teach me something each week, but she makes me smile.
Survivor is starting about 20 minutes late tonight.
FYI for anyone who missed any of The Sing-off: Oxygen network is showing it in its entirety on Tuesday afternoon and evening.
Very satisfying Survivor finale. The season was not my fave, but I have really enjoyed the last few eps, especially the Fabio/Sash interactions. Also:
Fabio wins--woo hoo!
We watched the Sing-Off marathon today. Both the kids and their friends liked the singing a lot. By the end Kelly and I were picking favorites and critiquing them like we had a clue. In the end, Committed earned their win. Loved them.
They really did earn it. And I'm hoping that Streetcorner Symphony becomes the Doughtrey of the a capella world. SOMEbody has got to give them a record deal!
I loved Nota last year, but think Streetcorner has a much greater range and, frankly, more talent.
Once again, Nicole smacked it out of the park with her 'duet' with Talk of the Town and...still...Ben should not sing on stage!
Ben should not sing on stage!
The three of us were all Noooooooooooooooooooo.
The three of us were all Noooooooooooooooooooo.
Honestly, I assumed that they would have learned that lesson with last year's Why Can't We Be Friends. But, noooo. This year, a song no one knows (sorry Ben) and one in which he carried the lead.
Love him to death...please make him stop!
His brains are nice and spicey. His voice...not so much.
As much as I like Ben Folds and his music, one certainly doesn't listen to him for his voice.
