I'm watching last night's Next Iron Chef. What were they thinking trying to make a pièce montée in two hours? Also, what was up with complaining about the crunchiness of the caramel? It's right there in the name, croquenbouche literally means "crunch in the mouth."
Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own
This thread is for non-fiction TV, including but not limited to reality television (So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef: Masters, Project Runway), documentaries (The History Channel, The Discovery Channel), and sundry (Expedition Africa, Mythbusters), et al. [NAFDA]
No comments on The Fashion Show. Iman was FABULOUS. I loved her at the end "you can stay." Like granting a pardon. And of course "Tomato, tomahto, it was yellow!"
I missed it! I am taping it this afternoon and will watch it later. I love me some Iman.
Iman is a goddess! I particularly loved how she told the designers in danger, "Don't Move." And the wigs. Oh my stars, the wigs! And Calvin is going to be oodles of fun while he lasts. Here come hell go? I'm still not sure I even know what that means, but I kind of love it.
Worst go-see attempts ever. Milan's big, but it's not that big.
Hah! I was wondering if this was just a particularly shitty group of models, or if Milan really was that confusing.
Granted I've never been there, but, for example, there are only 3 subway lines. It is the biggest Italian city size-wise, but, precisely because it's such a huge economic center, it should have been easier to navigate, or find someone to help. We filmed there recently for my latest project and it seems like where they needed to go would be a fairly compact area.
I finished "The Fashion Show" and that was just so great. I read TLo's recap and loved it and then I went over to read the comments.
One commenter wondered: "why people didn't submissively urinate when Iman spoke."
And of course this has me laughing, in tears.
Bwah! God, it's true. She was so fabulous.
"It's a fashion emergency and it needs an evacuation!" rivals anything La Kors has said.
