I'm enjoying this season of ANTM more than I have in a while. Most of the girls look like they could actually be high fashion models. (I say most because Kris, while I love her personality, will not ever be a high fashion model) And I'm loving the bump in quality that came with ALT and Italian Vogue. Thought Zac Posen was adorable on the show last night.
I'm really rooting for Kayla to take it all. Anne would be a disaster in a Covergirl commercial. She's not the type of model that could do Milan runways and more commercial work like SI Covers or Victoria's Secret shows, which is what Tyra seems to want. That said, Kayla is starting to come off as little more than a walking tragedy factory. A homeless teen lesbian with a rocky relationship with her absentee mom and now extra added sexual abuse. Give it a rest, sister.
If Heidi or Jessica had brought up McQueen they would have just turned around and said, "See--Mondo's derivative."
The thing is that I don't think Mondo's collection looks like McQueen. But many of the things that Nina and Michael dinged him for could also be said about McQueen's runway shows/collections.
Also, WTF is Michael Kors issue with John Galliano? He sounded like a bitter, bitter kitten.
or was it just her general ineptness?
Yeah, this. She seems generally kind of clueless.
sigh ... I kind of like Ann, but I can't see her winning. But I can see her with a good career in modeling, as long as it's still photos. Kayla, I generally like, except the "tragedy factory" (thank you Kat) is starting to wear thin.

Indeed.
From Michael Kors' Twitter account:
What did you think of #ProjectRunway season finale??
One can imagine the replies.
I think Ann photographs beautifully, but her awkwardness in person means she probably won't win this season, unless she suddenly gets over it.
I like her photos, but I don't think they were necessarily best all those weeks running.
I figured she was the judges' flavor of the season, so to speak, and had an advantage.
Yeah, I didn't understand all the creaming over Ann's photos.
And don't get me started on Project Runway. I can't decide if I'm happy or sad that I learned the winner before watching the show.

I was annoyed when someone on Facebook posted the result, but, in the end, I'm happy I was prepared for it.
