Hey, I've been in a firefight before! Well, I was in a fire. Actually, I was fired from a fry-cook opportunity. I can handle myself.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Just Desserts - OMG Morgan, we get it. You're so unbelievably heterosexual you just can't stand it. Now for the love of chocolate, SHUT THE FUCK UP.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yeah, Mallory has definitely grown on me. I've forgiven whatever was annoying about her earlier. And I like that both parent/kid teams have bonded and seem to be doing well for it. For whatever reason, I don't read Kevin's bringing up of his dad's physicality to be as him talking about what a burden he is, but expressing his concern over him. I think the physical breakdown earlier was really scary for him and he wants to try to look out for his dad and this is how. But I do think it will catch up with them in the end. This just is an incredibly physical game, no matter how it reads. Which is why the daughter/dad seem to have a good chance, because the older partner there seems to be fit. He's the one that does the strength challenges, and he seems to be hanging in pretty good.

Agree that I liked the doctors' lack of drama, even with quiet tears. I think they're fab. I loved the way they made that ff task so much better for themselves, instead of focusing on how bad it was and grossing themselves out.

I still would have wrung the other sales show host's neck by now if I were her partner. I'm glad to see her schlepping around stinky fish, but I was not surprised to see that it was the beta partner who had to do the physical task.

I know I won't ever be happy with Nick because of the way he treated Vicki, but I'm glad to see he's toned down since then. And Vicki was tearing it up this ep physically, even if they were deeply baffled by the ff concept. She was awesome both on the ascender and on the bikes.

I really would like to learn how to do that. It looked difficult but if I could gain the strength, incredibly fun.

Because books.

Just Desserts - OMG Morgan, we get it.

I'm so bummed about the elimination in that episode.

Me too! I thought for sure it was whiny Danielle's turn to go.

Unfortunately, Morgan and Heather both seem to be pretty good pastry chefs, which means we're going to be listening to their drama for the duration of the season.

Because books.

Just Desserts is such a train wreck. The elimination last night surprised me, but I wasn't unhappy about it.

Punishingly Intricate

The elimination last night surprised me, but I wasn't unhappy about it.

Man, it has been painful to watch. And yet I can't stop. I wish that the judges had repeated the nice things they said about Danielle's dishes in front of the other contestants (or that they showed it).

Why are they all so horrible??? (Except the one quiet guy)

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I wonder if there is going to be a second season?

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Let me make this clear:

I am not Gretchen's biggest fan, but Ivy has shown herself to be a superbitca on the reunion ep. I mean damn.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Nina and Michael are giving me agita, people. I cannot believe what I am seeing and hearing.

Because books.

It's really fascinating to see so much more of the judging discussion this season, but man, I think they're leaning toward a winner I just can't get behind.

Heidi judges strictly based on herself as a customer and a woman who loves clothes. Nina and Michael are much more rooted in the industry and the business end of it, I suppose naturally.

I just can't understand Nina saying that Gretchen's collection is of the moment and where fashion is going. But I think I can't see past the repetitive prints and what I think is a really muddy, sad palette to the shapes and the movement in her clothes.
