Art Crawl!!!

Well, try to watch the quickfire - that was interesting. It was a take on the mystery box where they get the box, start cooking and then: they get another box and repeat 'til end of quickfire.

The elimination challenge was to "disguise" a classic dish so that the diners couldn't immediately guess what it was.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

Meanwhile, I've started to watch last night's MasterChef and I'm liking the format so far.

Art Crawl!!!

Oh yeah. I missed the first say, 20 minutes of it but I got the rest and quite enjoyed it. Good to see Ramsey in food loving non-shouty mode.

"Oh no! Has falling sky liquid once again caused you the sadness?" -Starfire

I can never remember Amanda's name, so I just call her Leah. She's like her doppleganger or something. Which means she'll get super far in the competition without having much skill.

Because books.

I almost watched Master Chef last night, but then I found Poltergeist on WGN and stuck with that.

I can never remember Amanda's name, so I just call her Leah.

YES, this.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I watched a TC:M repeat from the first season and I just love Rick Bayliss (and Hubert Keller) SO SO MUCH. Chiarello was not so much of an ass as I remembered him- in this ep anyway, the one with Zooey Deschanel and the tribe of misunderstood vegans.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Rick Bayliss

He was awesome. He seemed so even-keeled despite his reputation for exacting authenticity.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I went back and forth on Chiarello. He was kind of a dick, but about stuff that made sense, like when he made the sous chefs do stuff in the kitchen. He didn't know the people, so it kind of made sense. Although at the time, it seemed dickish.

"We have trust issues." Mylar

I have to second megan in saying that I both really enjoy Master Chef and care so little about this season's TC that I've missed it the last two weeks running and I feel OK about it. I have them both taped, but I haven't been all the inspired to check them out. I do like Tiffany best, so I'm glad to hear that she's still rocking the house.

IOcookingshowN, I finally saw the last NFNS and I couldn't be more pleased that Arti won. Further, I will definitely check out her show when it debuts. But it was completely obvi all season long that she would win despite the whole "Does she have enough confidence?" intrigue that they tried to gin up.

And at jazz class today, there was a long discussion of Step Up 3D in which we all agreed that the 3D was completely unnecessary. We also all agreed that we enjoy Lil C very much and missed his inanity on this season's panel.
