This thread is for non-fiction TV, including but not limited to reality television (So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef: Masters, Project Runway), documentaries (The History Channel, The Discovery Channel), and sundry (Expedition Africa, Mythbusters), et al. [NAFDA]
I'd rather Casanova's wardrobe malfunction than Skeevy Bowler's backwards hiked up kimono.
I just wanted them to get rid of more than one person after all that drama about the last audition and "none of you should feel safe". Such bullshit.
I think I'm also peeved because I liked McKell! And her dress could have been cute, I think.
How in the HELL did Backwards Kimono guy get to stay??? At least Dreadlocks made a dress. It wasn't a flattering dress, but it was hardly the worst look up there.
Reality shows I am currently not happy with:
Project Runway, SYTYCD, Top Chef.
PR better step it up, since I think the other two are beyond redemption at this point.
I was really disappointed with the premiere of Project Runway. To make such a big deal about the possibility of sending multiple people home and then only sending one was just stupid, and I thought there were better candidates to be sent home than the girl who went.
I concur with Megan's list. Which means of course that I'm not particularly happy with any reality tv show I'm watching right now.
Work of Art
has been a pleasant surprise. I'm hoping
MasterChef
will be good. I think that's it for me.
I`m completely over SYTYCD at this point, which is a real shame, because of the potential at the beginning. And also because there is not enough Mark in it. There`s nothing left interesting to me. The teenyboppers can vote, because I no longer care and the judges voices are irrelevant.
I think what appealed about these shows to me in the early seasons (that the contestants were learning
and
I was learning) has gradually faded away as the contestants have gotten that much better.
Work of Art has been a pleasant surprise.
I didn't expect to like it, but I did. I am, however, liking the Miles show less and less. I also don't like the way that they are asking the other contestants to weigh in on the work of the others. Maybe just because Miles is always the one to offer his (negative) opinion.
Agreed, Vortex. I didn't get why the question was asked at all.
