saw this on TWOP re: SYTYCD...
Maybe next year every dancer should get a buy week, where they don't have to dance and can recover/rest, no questions asked. The strategy will be when to use or not use your one buy week.
I think this is a really good idea. Perhaps it shouldn't be used after the top 7.
So You Think You Can Fug The Fug Girls discuss Cat's dress on Wednesday.
I was mildly offended that they seem to be equating SYTYCD with Dancing with the Stars ... which is wrong. SYTYCD has people who really can dance - even the weakest of them CAN dance. The other (which will henceforth be nameless) seems to be a popularity contest based largely on how little the women can wear.
Srsly. And I love the Fug Girls but that was weaksauce.
Although I must admit, their comments made me realize that, since Cat always wears something ... unusual ... when she's on SYTYCD (with her height and those legs, and considering the show, I don't even really notice them any more), I'm now wondering what she wears in private life.
Well, the last two years, I heard her say she was styling herself.
I've been watching Season 2 via tiggy's links. They make me miss the choreography, the stage, the critiques--everything.
Where did that show go? 'Cause I want to go to there.
Tiggy's links so made me miss the old stage.
I just watched 5 Guys Named Moe and it made miss all that and the talent pool from that season. As much as I love seeing Mark on my TV again, I hate the All-Star concept and hope they realize it was a mistake and go back to the old format.
Not a single waltz this season. Why?
Why are Simon Fuller and Cecile Frot-Coutaz doing their level best to make me hate a show I once loved so much? The decision to cut no one last night was complete and utter bullshit. This is a competition show. If you can't compete, you should go home. Period. And I love Billy and think Jose couldn't dance his way out of a wet paper sack. But seriously, y'all? Billy should've been out last night. I don't blame him for not dancing, even though he'd been cleared by the doctors. Stepping is hard on the knees even when you are at 100% and given what happened to both Alex and Ashley, he may not have felt comfortable risking it. He has his whole career to think about, not just his place on this show. Nonetheless, Donyelle danced almost the entire last half of season 3 with a broken toe. Natalie danced herself into a knee brace and still tore it up and made top 6 during her season. Fug Princess. Noelle. There are so many dancers who've danced injured on this show. The decision to keep Billy last night was not fair. Not fair to the other dancers. Not fair to the audience. Just . . . no. Ugh. I hate what they are doing to the show this season. Thank god for Cat and her disgusted aside that the judges are just making shit up as they go along this season because honestly. WTF, show? I'm over it.
Mark was divine last night and Abbey Whoever showed Tasty how Faux-Fosse should be done. That whole routine was love and just made it even more head scratching why they keep letting Tasty do Broadway. That kid with the chains was phenomenal and I find it hard to believe that he was worse in other styles than AdeChike has proven himself to be so why is he not on the show while we watch Apple Cheesecake struggle and be mostly charmless week after week again? The ballerina was gorgeous in that piece. Did not care for the male dancer. I wish they wouldn't let the swaybots scream through guest performances. Enrique Iglesias is nothing without his mole.
Last night's show broke me for the season. I will stick it out because I'm addicted like that, but I just can't care anymore.
