TC:DC - from what the real judges said, I guess the two bottom contestants were the right choices, but there were a couple of moments during the cheftestant judging where the judges were giving WTF looks to the negative comments. I'm hoping they clarify that a bit in the blogs.

Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own
This thread is for non-fiction TV, including but not limited to reality television (So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef: Masters, Project Runway), documentaries (The History Channel, The Discovery Channel), and sundry (Expedition Africa, Mythbusters), et al. [NAFDA]
What is up with comfort's weave?
hahahaha. right?
Will Kent be limited as a dancer by his height in the future? He looks shorter than Kathryn, and she claims 5'5". I guess he could grow a little. They've been lucky not to have to work with size mismatches much this year - imagine Kent drawing ballroom with Melinda!
I never notice stuff like that. I would never have known that Comfort had a weave if you hadn't told me.
i've jumped down the rabbit hole of past seasons and am now compiling a list complete with youtube links to my favorite routines over the years. i've got seasons 2 and 3 done. should i wait to post it until it's complete?
is the paso doble supposed to look like a failed martial arts routine? I'm looking at you Jose.
okay, I finally got to the Kent/Twitch portion of the show.
If there were a step hoedown, Kent would get the blue ribbon. His shoulders were bouncy bouncy the whole fucking time. In this, he was terrible.
so, I started watching tivoed Top Chef. The challenge involved the teams voting, and someone said "this is where the strategy comes in" I stopped watching because I was annoyed. I hate this "drama" gamesmanship bullshit. I watch this for the competition about the food and the cooking, not how to get rid of a stronger chef or forming coalitions to vote. That's why I DON'T like most reality TV.
I'm still watching, on the first group.
All the contestants have nothing good to say, and Colicchio's face gets darker and darker. The other real judges are stone faced.
I think - I hope - these people are fucking themselves by trying to be strategic and super critical.
For sure, this wasn't the dynamic last season.
I'm so bored by this season of Top Chef, I'm barely watching. There's just no one I really like, and no one who seems as innovative and promising as the V brothers, or in past seasons.
It makes you wonder who the casting people *thought* would make for good TV this time around. After seasons with Fabio and Stefan, or the group last time, or even someone like Steven or Marcel, who could possibly have stood out as really watchable and fun this time?
