Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

HK - the second hour, if anyone's interested, had the team that won the challenge go to a wine tasting. Where they got drunk (that and drinking on the private jet coming back). To the extent one contestant (Autumn) was lying on the bed taking off her boots and fell off the bed. And another (Ed) was in the hot tub, drinking yet more, and when dared took off his trunks (between pixilation and a conveniently placed plant nothing was shown).

The lesson - never prep for a dinner in Hell's Kitchen when hung over.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Yep, last season (6) was the one with three tappers, all of whom were gone in two weeks. Bianca was the female (Peter and Phillip were the other two). The only one of those three who had a decent routine was Peter, who had that terrific Starry Night number by Wade Robson.

Rickey has the solos: [link] scroll down.

Melinda sort of reminds me of Channing, except I liked Channing.

Thrive to spite them

Found them! thanks.

Melinda just looks more comfortable and relaxed than Bianca did. I liked her solo.

Alex solo was amazing. Billy was more interesting in his solo and Robert was good but I still find him boring for some reason.

"Oh no! Has falling sky liquid once again caused you the sadness?" -Starfire

I can't help but feel like they're really dumbing down the choreo for Jose. It seemed especially noticeable in the Bollywood and last night's Samba.

I've now watched the Alex/Twitch hip-hop 3 times! I was giggling like a crazy person after it was over!

Every week, I'm blown away by Kathryn. She really is a phenomenal dancer. I'm always reminded how much I hated her when the top 20 were announced last years because of her high-pitched squeaky crying voice.

And I was horribly sad that we didn't have Mark last night. Horribly sad. Robert isn't even close to Mark's talent.

Ashley is fine, but she just fails to make a lasting impression on me.

Lauren. Hmmmm... I guess the best I can say is that I no longer hate her, so that's an improvement!

Still love Billy, but Alex makes me swoon.

It should be a no-brainer for Melinda to go home tonight (thought I really enjoyed her solo). If she does, next week it will start getting tough.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

The Garden! That was fun.

Loved the airmail envelope dresses.

Oh, how I've grown to love that high talker! Kathryn is just an exquisite dancer. I've decided what I really want is a season of Mark, Kathryn and Friends and each week, Mark and Kathryn could dance a couple of routines together and then bring back favorite dancers and choreographers from past seasons and either dance with them or have them do pieces with each other. That would be lovely.

Once again, I finished my blog with mere hours to spare before the West Coast airing of SYTYCD. It's hard getting back into the swing of things after taking the entire season of Idol off due to the heinous crimes against music and just plain common sense being committed week in and week out on that once proud show.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Okay, that Mandy Moore Cirque du soleil routine was a serious ripoff of some HBCU step show somewhere.

meara - Jul 01, 2010 8:00:18 pm PDT #14340 of 23273

Oh, it was a TOTAL step routine ripoff....but I enjoyed the hell out of it. At the same time, I was going "Cirque du Soleil?? Are you...what? I didn't accidentally flip to ESPN2 or something, did I?"

I was hoping they'd show more highlights of the allstars' seasons before doing the routine, that'd be fun.

And I'm glad to see Melinda gone, but a little boggled at how that leaves ALL THE BOYS.
