Yeah, I didn`t love the masks. I like the skill, but nobody does Jabba like Jabba.
We don`t know anything about Melinda `cause she won`t let us in. She took us to her mentor`s house instead of home to friends and family. She told us career advancing things for both her profile piece and her what America doesn`t know (I dance, sing and act) and not personal things. She uses her dance to reinterpret and overlay rhythms instead of to communicate or express.
I hate that these shows are so based on the personal story. If I had a bad family situation I would maybe not want to tell that story on national television. But the fact is that they are that way. And all the other contestants have to talk it up, too. So I think she needs to play the game or exit. We love or hate you based on what you give us. And if you give us nothing, that`s how we respond.
Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own
This thread is for non-fiction TV, including but not limited to reality television (So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef: Masters, Project Runway), documentaries (The History Channel, The Discovery Channel), and sundry (Expedition Africa, Mythbusters), et al. [NAFDA]
The atrocity of all the girls going out right off the bat is that we won`t get to see Mark partner! If they vote all the women off, I demand exhibition dances from the guys.
Shirtless exhibitions too!
Exhibitionist exhibitions!
Oh crud, I hadn't thought that far! Booooo!!!!
Same sex partner dances. They've done it before. Every year for the final performance show except last season because they had to cut it down, we get a guys group dance and a girls group dance. Danny and Neil's Two Princes dance is still one of my favorite pieces ever on the show. They can do that this year if we lose all our girls? Imagine Mark and Alex in a Wade Robson extravaganza? I'd die!
Oh, that would be seriously amazing.
Toss some Travis in there for old times' sake!
Sounds like this won't happen this season, but I loved the Jeanine/Kayla duet by Mia that had them dancing from one side of the stage to the other, shedding skirt layers along the way. Really excellent number.
Bully Beat-Down is kind of awesome. I caught it on MTV2 today. People submit videos about the bully who is making their life hell and the show challenges the bully to compete against an MMA fighter for $10,000. hint: the bully never wins.
