I LOVE that whole Tharp Sinatra song cycle. He was perfection in it.
Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own
This thread is for non-fiction TV, including but not limited to reality television (So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef: Masters, Project Runway), documentaries (The History Channel, The Discovery Channel), and sundry (Expedition Africa, Mythbusters), et al. [NAFDA]
Facebook SYTYCD page just linked to an interview with Nigel--he said they COULD end up with all boys at the end, in this format (yay!) and that he decided he didn't like the All Stars running offstage as soon as the song was over, so that'll change next week.
I'm sad that Alexie was eliminated. She was my favorite girl. I'm actually kind of mad at NappyTabs for her elimination. That routine was so incredibly lame. She danced it cute and sweet because the music, storyline and routine were cute and sweet.
But she also didn't blow me away in her solo. I just felt horrible for her - to try out so many times and then be the first to go.
Yes, she could have brought it in the solo, but it was severely lacking.
I've seen Baryshnikov doing "Push Comes to Shove" (a Tharp piece) and he was amazing. Saw someone else do it ... and they didn't have his speed.
I for one am VERY Happy to see Scott leave Hell's Kitchen; soooo arrogant and cocky, and really couldn't seem to cook.
And if he had said "No one has fine dining experience like I do..."" one more time.....UGH.
SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP!
Fran fucked up choosing Nilka, for sure, but I think Nilka then acted like a big fucking baby about it.
I agree with everything you said, especially re Scott, especially re "No one has fine dining experience like I do...".
Show don't tell, mega-douche.
Yeah, and Autumn was a smirkosaurus. Ugh.
Yes, but Autumn was a QUIET smirkosaurus. Scott ... if he were half as good as he thinks he is - and said he is - he'd be a lot better than he actually was.
And he's not, and he's gone, and that's wonderful, because I anted to reach through the TV and SMACK A BITCH.
