We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

For anyone who watched Antiques Roadshow this week, here's the follow-up story on the Native American baskets appraised at the end of the episode. A week after they filmed the show, one of the crew members on the show had stumbled across a photo from a 20-year-old research book that included a Washoe basketweaver posing with one of her pieces, one of the very same baskets they had appraised the previous week. So, instead of only being worth $25,000, it is now worth $75,000!

OMG, I want an entire album of Crystal/Joe Cocker duets. Please? And leave Lee home. The dude is just so much...nothing. He has no stage presence and is almost nearly always off-key.

Because books.

I think Crystal just had an orgasm, I swear to god. She looked BLISSED to be singing with him. And bless his heart, he still sounds great, but he looks like five miles of really bad road.

What a weird night! The Simon stuff was sort of touching, aside from Paula's extreme awkwardness, and then the guests! Alice Cooper! Hall and Oates! THE BEE GEES, for god's sake! Very surreal.

Man, that is so wrong. What kind of crack are Americans smoking before they dial the phone?

I'm surprised at how surprised I am! And I like Lee, so I'm not completely disappointed. I do think Crystal is going to do just fine, though, a la ... a lot of folks who didn't win, like Jennifer Hudson and Daughtry and of course Glambert.

I'm really not worried about Crystal, 2nd ran often does better than first. I'll just be over here scratching my head at how the vote went down. It's really hard to know, sometimes, if that many more people actually like Lee or if he just has a voting base that's more willing to keep punching numbers into the phone. I wonder, sometimes, what the vote would end up like if everyone could only vote once.

Because books.

That's true, Sail. And I think sometimes the teen girl vote is stronger than people realize. Although in this case, as a teen girl, I would have been voting for the AWESOME YOUNG WOMAN and not the cute boy, but still.

Me, too. Heck, it's the teen girl still inside me that's been voting for Crystal all along! I have no doubt she'll be very successful, she's got a very strong personality and a heck of a fanbase at home that I think will help power her into a more prominent position. Plus, she's a songwriter, too, and a very talented one from what I've seen. Lee, I'm not so sure that he'll be able to make a go of it even with the AI machine backing him. He's just too demure. He doesn't believe in himself and I don't know if he's going to be able to handle the added attention. He feels like another Taylor Hicks. And I loved Taylor, but he just isn't commercial.

TCM - Christ, not only is Rick whining again, but the moron who got Dionysus saying he doesn't care about working wine into the dish (or some such) is heading for a major beat-down from the judges.
